Sure.. the studio songs are perfect but you NEED the feel of Al in front of you singing you fav. Al song and having to enjoy it!

I like MNILWEV better in concert and DED

Sadly, I think HS is destined to be a never-done-live tune (I think both Al and Bermuda have said so somewhere), but it would bring the house down live!

I can do Hardware Store live but I can't get the Hardware Freestyle bridge every time. I wouldn't want to mess that up live.

Yeah. They both felt it was A.) Too hard on Al's vocals and was really tough for the band to play and B.) It has too many studio created sounds that wouldn't be great for a live performance.

BTW: Did Al actually do that verse without any editing?

The Title and Description of this topic may not be that clear, but are there any songs that you prefer to hear live as opposed to on an album, or vise-vera? I'm not sure quite what makes things change, but I know that this happens to me, and I'm wondering if it also happens to anyone else. Here are some examples of my preferences:

Personally, I don't like the album version of CI at all, but I enjoy the song a lot more when I hear it live. Not sure exactly what changes for me in this, it might be the "koo-koo-koo"s or something else, but I feel like the song is substantially better live.

With WDTAHTM, I think the song is great wether played live or on the album, but it does seem to have improved when played on stage.

I love CBNC on SOL, but I feel like when played live, the song doesn't hold up as much. I'm not sure quite why.

EDIT: Sorry mods, I searched and couldn't find this topic, but I guess I just didn't look hard enough.

This is a great idea! :Y I would say Fat is a big one for me. (No pun intended) Its just that, when I first saw the video, I watched it over and over and over and over and over, and it just got a bit boring when I listen to it on my MP3 player. But when seeing it in concert, with all the movements and everything, I liked it more. Plus it sounds better to me in concert because I feel more energy there than in the song recording itself.

Merged with older topic

From what I've heard  , Canadian Idiot definitly works better as a concert song. Much more energy.

S'ok.....I liked the idea but then it started bugging me, where have I heard this before?

I think I'd also like to add IAATP. I love this song to pieces already, awesome music, awesome lyrics, but it being live just gave all the more energy and rush. Of course, the rush is massive to me now because I've only see two concerts, and second of them being to a point where I could see the expressions and all, but Al strutting around, posing for the cameras, and just his movements and emphasis that we didn't hear so much on the recording made the concert version that much better.
