Oh is that where it came from?
By the way, is it obvious that I made the page?
Everybody feel free to edit it, I've now changed it to say that it was coined on the Yahoo group.

No, I didn't realize that, but you did a nice job. I think Bobbi was the first gal here to use the term, but the al-gals group has been around since February of 2000, so they get initial credit.

"Smaller scale"? We're slacking here, ladies!

(Although, thinking about it, isn't that one of the reasons the Beatles stopped touring? We definitely do NOT want that to happen here. )
Cool article!

Apparently, the "Weird Al" Yankovic Wikipedia article will be featured on the English Wikipedia main page on December 4.

I put together this topic from some recent (and older) posts, since I know several people here edit Al's or Al-related articles on Wikipedia or other Wikis. This is not meant to replace the article's discussion or talk page, just someplace we can discuss things that might not be appropriate on the discussion page, for example.

Just to remind everyone -- This is actually a pretty big deal. We might see an influx of newbies tomorrow because of this, or we might see nothing. If they're legit fans, please make them feel welcome. If they're just here to be trolls, use the report button and a moderator will take care of it asap. Anyone with Wiki editing experience, please keep an eye on Al's page tomorrow, and over the next few days. The article will get a
ton of edits tomorrow, and over the next few days while it's still linked on the main page. Hopefully most edits will be legit, but without a doubt, vandals
will strike, and will strike often. The article will not be protected or even semi-protected tomorrow, so it will be all that much more easier for the anonymous cowards to vandalize. If you don't have Wiki editing experience, or don't get a chance, don't worry about it. There will be plenty of people to take care of it, but the extra eyes will help.

Hey! Why doesn't Al have a wiki? If I actually had skillz... Yeah, that'll be the day.
I know this post is old, but Weird Al
does have a Wiki. In fact, it's hosted right here on WOWAY. Just click on the "Wiki" button in the upper right of any page, or go here. We're a lot more relaxed than Wikipedia, where sometimes things are so strict, editing an article is about as much fun as attending a funeral. We welcome anyone to join in, and I'll be happy to help you out or get you started, even if you have no prior Wiki experience.

1:25AM Pacific Dec. 4th, I log onto Wiki and am greeted by Al's loveable mug.
I rush over here to be the first to start a brand new Thread about it, already concocting fantasies wherein Forum members sing my praises for bringing unto their attention this celebrated marvel! I'm imagining my fellow Al fans writing me poems in gratitude, telling me I'm attractive, mailing me Christmas cookies.
I get here, and what do I find?
I've been robbed! Robbed I tells ya!
It ain't fair!
Why does this always happen to me!?!?!?
