lamename, at this time, this topic is less a serious thing than it is a furthering of tradition.

As far as the necessity of this topic, I think all of the points made so far are obvious but I would argue that speculation is baseless by definition, so why not start it now? I can just as easily speculate about the next album now as I could in a year or so. I speculate that there will be a TV or Movie song on the next album based on the fact that there wasn't one on this release. See?

The problem with that is that all of those songs will be grossly outdated by the time the next album comes out. If he was going to do parodies of those songs, he probably would have done them for this album.
Forget 3 years from now, some of them are grossly outdated
now

Oh, I guess I didn't explain what I meant well enough. Of course Hairy Back will not be on the next album, but a speculation about what artist he should (or might) style parody could be speculated on.

On the "Tom Green Show" on the Internet, Al revealed that the next album will be released in 2009 and that he's already written three originals for it. Cool!
Yes, I know he was being sarcastic!

I don't find this surprising at all...Al's a little songwriting machine these days...

The "I've written three songs" was a joke. If you watch the interview again, Tom asks Al how long it takes to write songs and Al jokingly said "I've written three since this interview started." Then he jokingly referenced that joke later on. Don't believe me, watch the interview again. As for the 2009 thing, that was just a guess off the top of his head because normally he releases an album once every three years and three years from now is 2009.

If you read the small print in Jeremy's post, you'll notice he said "Yes, I know he was being sarcastic." Three years is probably a pretty good guess, though.

The new album that's supposed to come out in 2009 just was leeked onto limewire
It's getting old. Please stop.

What if the next ALbum will come out in late 2007 or 2008? You guys had remembered when we've waited four years for Poodle Hat to come out. Right? Plus on top of everything else, maybe Yankovic will be making another "ten-track ALbum" like Polka Party (the first 10-track studio ALbum yet),thus making six (or maybe seven) parodies. Seems there's going to be more parodies, less originals.
