September 13, 1997 at a fair called The Big E. I was 10 years old, and I'll never forget how excited I was to be seeing Al! But then again, that pre-concert excitement never wears off no matter how many shows you've been to, does it? :P I brought my friend Maureen along, because she was a huge fan at the time too, so we spent most of the day on all the rides at the fair. And since we spent the day on rides instead of getting ourselves good seats, we were sort of way in the back on the wooden benches at the concert. I remember when Al first came on stage, my jaw just dropped because I couldn't believe it was really Weird Al in front of me. I also remember after the show was over, standing ontop of the bench clapping and cheering. And then when we were walking out, there was a huge crowd of people around a white limo, so we stuck around to watch Al come out. He ran out of that building and into the limo so fast it was like a blur. So I didn't meet him that day, but while I was waiting I did meet Steve Jay who signed my Al shirt :)

I would just like to add that at my first show, I felt the power of Al's sexy stare during Germs, even though I was so far back. He was on all fours, and looked out into the crowd. I felt like he was looking right at me, which I'm sure he wasn't. All I could say was "ooh!". He left me speechless!
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

Mine was on October 15th, 2000 at the Omaha Music Hall. I had begged my mom to buy tickets but she didn't want to drive the car downtown because it was having issues at that point. I convinced her to get some from Bakers (another Ticketmaster outlet) to let me go. I had gotten row N.

Well, I had absolutely loved it and have a few pictures that Al is the size of an ant. Al had blew me away from an amazing performance and I knew I needed to see more shows. Unfortunately, the tour was ending that month.

I also remember the fake snow machine for my side of the theater was broken, it only went to the first few rows. The other two sections go fake snow all the way back beyond where I was sitting.

The guitar strap for the Al's Smells Like Nirvana guitar broke too, so a random stage person appeared to fix it from behind. It was amusing to see a third arm.

Hey!

My first concert was, would you believe, this year! It was at Thebby Theatre at Adelaide. I went with a mate and his dad. Awesome show. Didn't have a camera :(, didn't get a good seat :(, and didn't stay after the show to meet Al, big :(. Anyway, great show. Had a blast! I got a coffee mug, yay, go me!!! I'm hopin' to make the Southern California Fair show, that would be sweet!

My first concert was this year too!!
It was what turned me into a hardcore fan
I got to go for my b-day with my mom and my bro since my sis and dad were out of town. My best friend decided to go to and bought a ticket like right before. :P
Ya it sucked at first though cause it started raining really hard and so the concert was delayed like an hour or two...... But it was definatly worth it!
Ya it was pretty life changing.
2nd Runner Up Ms. Ohio.
That's my new life goal.

I can't find if I did a write-up about my first concert. It was July 15, 2003 at the Palace Theatre in Albany, NY (the Palace has been VERY good to me! :D ). So I'll just put the link to my pics, instead.

If I had to compare my first to my second concert, my second show, which was this year (& my write-up for that show is in the thread), was better because I got to meet AL. :- )

My first concert was May 6th, 2000 at the Roanoke Civic Center. It was a day of mixed emotions for me. My mom called me that morning to tell me my grandmother had passed away but told me to go ahead and go to the concert since the family wouldn't be getting in until the next day. On the way to the concert, I got a speeding ticket; the speed limit had just been changed on a section of I81 from 65 to 55 and I didn't notice the sign. I got to the Civic Center and went into the wrong building; the elderly usher took my ticket and tore it without looking at it. I then find out that there is an arena football match going on and the concert is in another building so I'm faced with the prospect that I might not be able to get in to see the show since my ticket had been torn but luckily I wasn't the only one this happened to and the box office OK'd the damaged tickets. I get into the Civic Center and this guy and his girlfriend walk up to me and want to see my ticket because they think I've taken one of their seats. I didn't feel like arguing so I showed them my ticket and pointed out that I was in the right seat. The guy next to me had their seat and refused to move and a fight almost broke out. Luckily, an usher came over and made the guy move. Unluckily, the other guy and his girlfriend smelt like they hadn't bathed in at least a week.

But then the show started. I had never had so much fun in my life, despite having to endure Mr. and Mrs. Stinkfest for 2 1/2 hours. During OMM, Al walked up the aisle and was about 5 feet from me. I was wearing a "Where the Wild Things Are" tshirt and as he headed back towards the stage, he looked back, evidently saw my shirt, and did a quick double-take. I guess he must've liked it! I drove home that night feeling much better than I had before I got there, despite the day's stresses and I'll always have fond memories of my first Al concert!
