I've now tallied the votes. Once the votes are read, the decision is final. That person will be asked to leave the Tribal Council area immediately. That person will also relinquish their Survivor avatar and return to their normal avatar as soon as possible.

Again, a reminder: Please don't take it too personally if you are voted out. No vote for any individual should be taken as an assault on or insult to them as a person or as a member of this forum. Remember, we are all still friends here in WOWAY. But remember too -- this is a GAME, and it is a game in which players must do what they must strategically in order to win!!

Well, Squid Hats, losing two in a row is very tough. You've really shown your resiliency, though. Your tribe, while struggling in the challenges, seems very close knit, and your remaining members are very supportive of each other. It's natural to worry that, despite this closeness, your tribe is on the skids, and that getting yourselves back together and formed into a winning tribe may seem impossible.

But rest assured, Survivor is a game in which ANYTHING ... is possible ....

The next Immunity Challenge will begin at 8:00 PM Eastern Daylight Savings Time (EDT) on Thursday, July 1, and it will end at 8:00 PM EDT, Friday, July 2, unless completed early.

PETROLEUM JOES, there is no need to select any players to sit out of the next Challenge. Although you are 2 tribe members fewer than the SQUID HAT Tribe, this fact will not make a difference once the Challenge begins.

NOTE: Survivors, while the next challenge will not be a timed event or likely be solved immediately, it would be to your distinct advantage to have your "entire tribe" present at the start of this challenge. Contact your members and be sure they can be there at the beginning to enhance your tribe's chances of winning this challenge quickly!!

This is a TYPE 2 CHALLENGE!! Arriving late is risky but survivable!

Before we begin the Immunity Challenge, there is some business to take care of. You all recall the videos from TUVC from which I asked each of you to pick one [and those who did not pick were randomly assigned a video] from the following list:

Eight of you Survivors sent in a choice of video before tonight's deadline of 7:30 PM EST. One of you sent in a video choice, which I informed you was alrady claimed, but you never sent me back a second choice. You and the one person who never answered me at all were entirely randomly assigned to which ever videos remained.

Before I begin, please note that both Driew_La_27 and scottidog received information about this event prior to my sending any of you the PM asking you to choose a video. This was done so that they can attest to that these plans and arrangements were made long before you ever knew there was a choice to be made.

You will recall that on the back of the TUVC DVD box is a list of all the videos. Each video has a number next to it. Using those numbers on our list, we see this list:

YOU'VE JUST PICKED YOUR NEW TRIBES.

The Even Numbered Survivors are the New Petroleum Joes, and the Odd Numbered Survivors are the New Squid Hats. Some of you [American Pie; weirdallie27; stupidsurgeon27] have switched tribes, others remain in the same tribe. But the numbers of Survivors in the tribes are even once again. And yes, this means you'll have to re-establish communications between your tribe members all over again. Sorry about that.

I can now hear the cries, "But WHY???" Well, as anyone who has seen the game of Survivor, it often involves shaking things up a bit. You can never get TOO comfortable in your position in this game. [Take it form one who got bit in Survivor 2! ] The CBS game frequently jumbles the tribes up like this during several of its seasons. And yet, this is the FIRST season of Weird Al Survivor to do this.

Besides, doing the tribe jumble has some advantages for everyone:

(1) I sensed that only a few members were making alliances yet, and those that were were keeping them to within their own tribes. By having the jumble, it allows you to meet and work alongside other Survivors that you would not have had the opportunity to before the Merge ... and maybe make some new alliances. Once the Merge happens after this Challenge and the next Challenge, you are all one big happy tribe ANYWAY!

(2) The Squid Hat tribe, which had lost two Challenges in a row, had been worried about near-extinction of their tribe after the next two Immunity Challenges. This move keeps the Squid Hat tribe strong again -- though its membership may have changed somewhat.

(3) This next Challenge is best played with even numbers on the two teams. And best with 5 players on each team than with 4.

The REAL question is ... after two more challenges with your new tribes, will you STILL FEEL THE SAME ABOUT YOUR EARLIER TRIBAL LOYALTIES OR NOT??

[Please PLEASE do not overly upset about this. The game is made to help you learn about other people on this forum, both to form alliances for playing in the game -- and as well as to meet real WOWAYers you might not have had the opportunity to meet. So enjoy it! Besides, the Joes and the Hats will cease to exist in just one Challenge after this one!]

Immunity is once again back up for grabs!

The tribe that wins this Challenge will get this avatar, which will gair-un-tee that everyone in your tribe will get to stay in the game for 3 more days. You will also be able to use this icon as your avatar until our next Challenge.

If your tribe loses, all of your members -- yes, in YOUR NEWLY FORMED TRIBE -- will report to TRIBAL COUNCIL [date and time to be announced at the end of the challenge], where you will have to vote out one of your tribe members.

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE #3 -- "CONCERT PICTURES"

PLEASE READ ALL DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE STARTING!


Well, I gotta tell ya, the other day I was really excited. I had just picked up my photos of the last Weird Al concert from the photo developing store, and I couldn't wait to see them. Imagine my surprise when I opened the envelope and instead found the pictures you see below!! ARRGHH!! The photo place mixed up the orders with someone else's AGAIN!! Well, I was sure disappointed ... until I looked at those pictures again a bit more closely. And then I suddenly realized that I DID have pictures of Al and the band after all!!

Look carefully at each of the nineteen pictures below. Each one represents a word, name, or phrase that contains one of the words "Weird", "Al", "Bermuda", "West", or "Jay". [Yes, Rubén gets snubbed ... yet again ... ] Each of the five "band words" has been used at least three times. Some of the references are directly related to the photo, some are indirectly related, but each has a clear and undeniable connection to one of the five "band words". You must post in the Challenge #3 Game Play Thread the correct identity of any numbered picture, using one of the five "band words" listed above. For instance, the correct answer to this picture:



would be "Photo #00 -- Blue JAY".

If your answer is incorrect, I will type in the Challenge #3 Game Play Thread: "[Your Survivor name here], your answer for Photo #[X] is not correct." There is no limit to the number of incorrect answers you can make, and you lose no points or get no penalty for a wrong or misspelled answer. But be careful! An incorrectly spelled answer is counted as WRONG!! If you make a mistake or incorrectly spell an answer, you may end up giving a clue to the opposing tribe, who could STEAL the correct answer from you if they type it in correctly FIRST!!

If you are the first to post a correct answer for a particular picture, I will post in the Challenge #3 Game Play Thread: "[Your Survivor name here], your answer for Photo #[X] is CORRECT!!". I will then tell you if you have one or two correct answers and if you can still participate in the game.

Each Survivor may correctly identify a maximum of TWO of these pictures. If you have answered two correctly already, I will ignore any other answers from you posted in the Game Play Thread -- whether correct or not. Again, be careful -- if you just keep answering all the clues, you may accidentally give the other tribe an answer they need!! Once a photo is correctly identified, no one else may use it as their answer. If you answer a previously identified photo again, I will post: "[Your Survivor name here], Photo #[X] has already been identified.".

There is to be NO SHARING OF CLUES OR ANSWERS WITH YOUR TRIBEMATES!!! However, it is certainly to your advantage to PM, e-mail, and otherwise scream and yell at your tribemates who have not yet identified two photos and tell them to get busy!

I will in the Game Play Thread periodically post recaps on which photos have not been answered yet and which Survivors may still identify photos.

First tribe to correctly identify TEN photos wins Immunity. The challenge has a deadline of 24 hours after the time of its posting. If neither tribe has correctly identified ten photos by that time, the tribe with the highest number of correctly identified photos at that time wins Immunity.

If the tribes have an equal number of correctly identified photos after 24 hours, a final "Sudden Death" photo will be posted in the Game Play thread at the 24 hour mark from the time this Challenge was posted. The same rules as noted above will still apply for this one picture. So if you can see the score is tied and the 24 hour deadline is approaching [Friday, July 2 at 8:00 PM EDT], DON'T GO ANYWHERE!! ANY SURVIVOR -- EVEN THOSE WHO FINISHED CORRECTLY ANSWERING TWO PHOTOS IN THE FIRST PART OF THE GAME -- MAY ANSWER THIS "SUDDEN DEATH" PHOTO!! First tribe to correctly identify that ONE PHOTO wins Immunity.

Due to limitations in graphics posting on WOWAY, I have to post the photos in 3 groups of photos, with 6 to 7 photos in each group. The grouping of the pictures is NOT meant in any way as a clue to which "band word" the photos belong to. The photos will immediately follow this post.
