The more wild ones are usually impossible to find at stores. I was amazed that about a year after I got the black and white checkered ones, I saw them in a store. Only that type though.

OE and I were going to go in search of a store that sold Vans, but opted instead for a tour of the Wilshire Blvd area. We had an interesting lunch at a deli that has some historical significance, but I don't remember what. Good food. Unusual ambience.

Yeah, usually the black-and-white checkers are the only designed set stores carry, or are the only slip-ons for that matter!

If you really want a challenge, try finding a store that carries Vans in the kid sizes! My little cousin wants those skull-patterned laced ones for Christmas. I'm literally getting laughed at when I call stores asking for kids Vans.

Ooh! Ooh! A TOPIC ON VANS!!! MY NEW FAVORITE KIND OF SHOES!!!!

OK, I'm calming down now....

Well, once I found what Al's shoes were (VANS!!!) I rushed out to get them for school this year...and I LOVE THEM to death...they're not flashy like Als but I do plan to get a pair like that for my Birthday...

For some good places to find Vans..

I've done a lot of research, so believe me I know! ;)

www.zappos.com is where I bought mine online, since I didn't know at the time what stores I could get them at...you would have to order them to get my size...I have Vans Mannaz size 10 navy/baby blue and I LOVE THEM. I wear them every day and everywhere because I love sneakers....(well I don't wear them to dances or church but that's about it unless i go somewhere really nice!)

For women, check www.alloy.com....they have 5 different styles of slip on....Checkered, Gingham, Camo, FLAMES (sorry, they're cool!),colored checkered (pink or blue) and *drumroll* ALOHA SLIP ONS!!! I saw them in the catalog first and flipped out cuz, well, they're the SAME SHOES AL HAS! I wanted those shoes ever since the first time I saw them in the PH cover booklet- I love palm trees! :inlove: The AL SHOES are 36.00 and only come in red at that website...

2 other websites that carry a couple different styles of vans...

www.zumiez.com (4 kinds for girls, 5 for guys)
www.journeys.com (about 10 kinds for girls, more for guys!)

As you can see, I've done my homework...

I love Vans! YAY!

Seen them! I forgot which shoe store here, but they had a kid's pair even if it was just plain white.

That's great. I always have problems finding womens sizes. I usually have to go with mens smalls or boy sizes.

You're not the only one who has hard time finding women sizes, Cid. Not to mention, I like the mens slip on styles better. :)

ccs, I have no idea what the answer to that question is. :dontgetit:

Ok, Cat, I'll say something, just to make you feel better. How do you keep your Vans clean? Mine are a little dirty, and I want to make sure to clean them w/o ruining them.
