I can do all of hardware store with ease except after trash compactors juice extractors shower rods and water meters. Then I start to mumble and run out of breath.
I can do all of JS and Horoscope easily. And I can sing the original You Oughta Know pretty darn well. Thats the song I practice to when I need to sing or something and when I need to talk I do Albuquerque.

i can do allen wrenches through trash compactors. i mess up at juice extractors. and then i can do trailor hitch demagnetizers all the way to the end of it. i still havent memorized it though, i can only do that if im reading it. i've only got the first 4 and the last 4 memorized. im thinking about getting a few lung transplants. i might be able to sing this whole thing if i have about 27 lungs. i can sing every other weird al song there is, hardware store is just really hard.

I've got all of JS and Horoscope down pat. "You Oughta Know" was pretty easy, too. But Poodle Hat has a lot of songs that I'm having difficulty with.
I'm still struggling to get "Couch Potato" down, and "Trash Day" is hard for me too. I haven't even TRIED to memorize "Hardware Store" yet. There are parts of "Angry White Boy Polka" that I get tripped up on, too. Of course, I haven't even had the album a week yet, and I don't have a lot of private time to listen to the songs over and over again...but I'll do it eventually! I always do!

sorry for bringing an old thread to life again, but i actually had a question about his fast singing:
i know some fast singing must be put together by many smaller bits, like for instance hardware store, right? He can´t possibly have the breath to say all that stuff??? Or can he...?
But what about the theme tune to The Weird Al show?
i find that almost impossible to sing, it is so much, so fast. No time to breathe.
Do you think Al really sung it all in one piece?

Was the Weird Al Show theme recorded slower and then sped up? It sounds like it might have been. Of course, anyone who's watched the titles video for "Spy Hard" or heard Al sing "heeeeee's a ghost" in concert knows that he really can hold a note for a long time. Amazing breath control.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.
