Really? We found the singing was VERY drown out. Maybe it was just the sound system, but his mic cut out VERY briefly during Amish Paradise and it was almost easier to hear him sing unplugged for that brief, yet quiet moment than over the mic.

If I can remember tonight, I'll ask a band member about the gargling.

I don't find a problem with that at all. If I tried to gurgle that, it'd go more like
GGRgrrrrgggg GAH COUGH COUGH HACK SPIT GUH

Yeah, I can completely understand why a recording is used. He DOES still gargle for real on stage but that's not the sound you hear. I got sprayed with his mouth-water. Haha.
Edit: To clarify, he spit the gargled water into the air and then threw the remainder of the water into the audience. Definitely did not straight up spit on the audience!

Just to be clear: Al doesn't throw his gargled water or spit into the audience. He swallows the gargled water, and throws out the cup that he drank from, which still has some water left in it.

Which I am glad for! I went to a "concert" at Anime North. There were 3 Japanese bands, one I loved, one I hated and one I liked. We saw the first guy, went to get snacks, then came back for the third. I guess everyone hated the second performer cos there was about 100 or 200 people left. The guy took this moment to just do fanservoce all night and let the back up track do the singing after a while. He was literally just spitting his water on his fans, and then just spitting when he ran out of water! It was DISGUSTING. My friends were literally soaked (but they were happy and drunk). I had stood way back from the crowd and I'm glad I did... I'm not fond of artists who spit their water onto the crowd....

I edited my post because it did read like he actually spit on the audience. I could have worded that differently. I was talking about the water he drank from. For the record, I do feel like spitting on people directly is a bit of a social faux pas
