Most of these are very deserving, no doubt, though this year it would be hard to say that Al is not more deserving than at least a few of these recipients. I don't get it, I really don't... Oh well, see you next year.

I am outraged to learn that the Backstreet boys and the new kids on the block will be getting a star next year and Al hasn't had one yet. This is truely upsetting.

Al's Star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Their utter refusal to give Al his due puzzles me. The Backstreet Boys? Al dwarfs them in terms of how long he's been around. Not to mention in terms of talent.

What are you talking about? Why does it matter? Why does Al NEED to be on the Walk of Fame or in the Rock Hall? What is the purpose? So his fans can gloat? I really don't get why a big deal is being made over crap as insignificant as this.

Really, if anyone's doing this to gloat, it's a pathetic reason to want this.

Al deserves it, but does he NEED it? No, of course not. His accomplishments speak for themselves and no one can ever take them away from him.

I don't know Al personally (Well I do, but a handshake and a picture doesn't equal personal relationship....), but I'm guessing that he's more than happy with the approval of the people that matter most, his friends, his personal and professional families, and the fans. A star or being in the HOF would be icing on the cake, but that's really all it is.
You have quickly thought up such matchless phrase?

Al's Star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Post by Kevbo1987 »

Thanks to Ryan for discerning my motive for wanting Al to get a star. Yes, clearly I want to go around and gloat to everyone that Al got a star, because I know how impressed everyone would be. What exactly would I even be gloating about? That doesn't even make sense.
I want Al to get a star because it would be a nice honor. That's it. Does he need it? Of course not. His career accomplishments speak for themselves.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

How is a star on the Walk of Fame an honor? Why does he deserve something that doesn't really mean anything?

It makes sense to me.
