He was already pretty much cheating on the vegan diet, anyway. I've tried veggie meals before. I used to make a mean cassoulet with leeks. I would have never tried anything veggie had it not been for Al. hehe, I don't like tepid leeks, either, btw.

:oo I hope that he sticks to the organic milk products as there are much less chemicals and injected hormones in those! *gets off soap box*

Anyways...Al, in part, inspired me in my vegan ways. I have never, EVER, been a meat fan and had been considering becoming vegan for quite some time. Even did a lot of research about it. Once I heard that Al was one that was kind of the clencher. ;)

oh, Al also inspired me to collect Vans and Hawaiian shirts. I currently have 1 of each.
(that's 1 pair of vans, not 1 van)

So, did they open it?

Because they can't have gotten the reference if they did.

Al and his music inspired me to make this charm bracelet:

Image

The charms, left to right, and what they represent:

palm tree - Could represent Hawaii and Hawaiian shirts or even California, home of Al.

poodle - there are several songs this could reference: Don't Wear Those Shoes, Genius in France, Talk Soup, Virus Alert and The Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota. Of course, the poodle could also represent the very missed Bela.

flip flops - Al has been known to wear them. I couldn't resist these when I saw them.

treble clef - music! I'm thinking there would be a treble clef on sheet music for the accordion.

accordion - Al's main axe

computer monitor - It's Al About the Pentiums, and I guess Virus Alert would work, too.

spatula - Spatula City, The Weird Al Show Theme

scissors - Running With Scissors, and now, Whatever You Like

I put this bracelet together several years ago, so now some of the charms can represent some newer songs. I want to add some more charms. I posted a list of some that I found on ebay, along with links to them all, right here. I also listed the songs they could reference as well.

I had fun looking for all those charms, and I hope to get them all added to my bracelet before Al tours again. I missed two chances to show him my bracelet, so I want to be able to show a more complete version of it to him.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

Thanks, Spartan! I love it. I think I spent around $50 putting it together by shopping at ebay stores. I guess the bracelet itself could be an ebay song reference!

:D
