I'm used to seeing peope pick and pan odd choices on Al's albums (odd to me, at least) but that bit about disappearing was really odd. I mean he says 3 years between albums has been Al's norm for about a decade. Poodle Hat came out in 2003, he put out SOL in 2006, and in between, despite his family tragedy, he fulfilled all his concert commitments and even returned to meeting and greeting fans a few months later. Where in that timeline do you fit the "disappearing?"

But anyway, another little bit of praise for some of Al's originals. Little by little they're getting more respect. :)
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

The original, non-parody material is usually where the man stumbles

Says who? Certainly not me! I usually prefer Al's originals very much over the parodies...and I really like the parodies.

A critic who seems to think his "opinion" is fact. <_<

 That is a very strange review indeed. I'm not exactly sure what to make of it.

My mum was on the phone with me, and told me the cutest thing---

One of her friends (coworker as well) said she had heard her 13-year-old son walking around the house singing some song, and she didn't know what it was so she asked him what he was singing, and it turned out he was singing 'White and Nerdy', and he was like "Oh it's this awesome new artist! His name is Weird Al!"

My mum's friend is familiar with how much we love Al, and she was laughing and said "honey, Weird Al has been around for a while now", and told him about some of the art-related stuff I've done.

So yeah, Al has a new fan back home in Maine-- and that kid thinks Al is REALLY cool. I thought that was so cute! I'm surprised he'd not heard any of Al's songs previously-- hehe.
Aron-- Only the second accordionist to ever sit in the trunk of Torsoboy's DeLorean. Al was the first.

What is this guy talking about with the Spike Jones reference?
I couldn't tell a dirt clod from a plate of caviar.

I don't get that, either, TMBJon.

Terminally uncool?? Not in my book!

Also, I happen to think Confessions Part III is pretty darn funny.

Really strange review.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

Probably referring to some sound/music effects in Polkarama, which I recognized from listening to Spike Jones myself. SJ is one of Al's influences, anyway.

Listen to Spike, and you can hear a lot of Al. Every Era has someone who parodies what's going on, and Spike Jones was one of the first. Then it went to people like Allan Sherman and Stan Freberg, then our beloved Al.
