QUOTE I guess I was acting silly its only a dvd. I hope I dident make anyone mad.
I think we've all been in a situation like that when shopping for something. The worst "no show" culprit I usually come across is Best Buy. "Oh yeah, we did get in that big new release that everyone has been looking for, but we're understaffed today so we're not going to go back and bring out the box." Um...isn't that called hoarding???
For a DVD like this, I would recommend calling around first. Since I can't really imagine the more-mainstream stores like Target or Wal-Mart carrying it (not that I would shop at Wal-Mart anyway), the better bets would be Suncoast, Media Play, FYE, even Best Buy. And of course, make sure they hold a copy for you.

I had a heck of a time finding it. Target didn't get it at all and neither did the big FYE near me ("It wasn't shipped."). Wal-Mart was taking all day putting the new stuff out, and I didn't feel like hanging around. Finally, I went to Best Buy- and they had a LOT of 'em. *knows she should have pre-ordered it through WOWAY, and promises to do better next time*.

I was browsing through TUVC last night; some of the older videos really have cleaned up nicely! I noticed it particularly with DTBS. And the Tom Snyder clip is of excellent quality.
That's a fun one to see... Bermuda sure was a hottie (not that he doesn't look fine now... I guess I was mostly thinking how many years it was going to take that frenetic young guy in the velvet pants to get in touch with his inner hottiness)
Actually Al was beyond frenetic... if he still gets just a little nervous before going onstage now, when he's been doing it for a quarter of a century almost, I can't imagine what he must have felt like appearing on national TV for the first time. I bet most of his blood volume was replaced by adrenaline. And who'd have guessed he'd turn out to be such a star? Snyder mentioned a girl on the show that night whom he thought did the same sort of thing as Al-- but she dropped off the radar into the usual novelty-song limbo, to be remembered, probably, only by Dr. Demento.
I'm looking forward to watching the rest of it... I'm saving the Weird Al Show clips though until I can watch them with somebody else there to help me laugh, instead of when I'm alone. Some things are too good not to share.

"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

I only watched the Tomorrow Show clip and the Easter Egg right before I left for class. Maybe I can watch some more on the computers here since they have DVD players.
My dad was surprised as heck that was Bermuda on the Tomorrow Show clip.

I picked it up yesterday at Best Buy. I haven't watched all of yet, but from what I've seen and heard, I'll review the various aspects of the disc.
PICTURE: Some of the videos seem too bright, but overall, these are great and the superior picture and pause function on DVD players will be sure to make our Subtle stuff in videos topic used a lot.
SOUND: Glorious. Perfect. Al mixed into 5.1 Dolby Digital is something I've been waiting for for years (I'm a huge audiophile). This has one of the greatest sound mixes on any DVD I've ever heard. The mix on "Smells Like Nirvana" is particularly perfect.
SPECIAL FEATURES
The Tomorrow Show: One of the most important moments in Al history. I'm surprised at how well the tape has been kept all these years, the picture is fantastic. Some of Tom Snyder's comments seem a little bit like Craig Kilborne Jr. but since he was smart enough to allow Al perform on his show, I guess I forgive him.
The Weird Al Show: I wish we could've gotten a bit more, but this gives me more hope that we'll get the complete series on DVD. The first release of "Lousy Haircut" is worth it though.
OVERALL: Essential, for the picture, for the sound, for the ability to pause and zoom in on the Pentiums dancers, for everything. This isn't one of those, hurry-up-and-get-it-out-for-Christmas things. This is a perfect DVD.
