I think Kristine means that if we were hoping for Al and TBITB to appear at this con, they all live in So. California, so it would be much easier for them to come. Just speaking from a convenience standpoint, that is true. But, as you all know, they have been known to appear at these things even when they were out of California.jbracciante @ Jul 27 2008, 10:18 AM wrote: Why exactly would it have to be at So Cal? The last ones weren't and had plenty of people. More specifically, what people would only appear in So Cal?
But if a fan convention is going to be put on, we need to go with the idea that this is a fun way for Al fans to meet each other and have Al-themed activities and a chance for other comedy musicians to perform, etc. and not expect that Al or any of his band members will appear. Of course, they're always invited to these things, and if they do appear, it's a bonus, for sure, but it can't be the focus of the event.
Oh, and as a reminder, the event won't be called "ALCON", as Amanda has that copyrighted, but has told me she has no plans to do another one.
Well, Well, Well: You need to step back. Don't post in this thread if you're not interested in the subject.

Well, Al themed activities and comedy musicians..
lets go over who was there last time:
Larry Weaver
Luke Ski
Tony Goldmark
Dan Hart
Carla Ulbrich
Jeff Morris
Sudden Death
Throwing Toasters
Bob Ricci
Mike Toomey
Disclaimer:I don't know how many of these bands would still be available, or are still together. Hopefully WOWAY'ers can edit this list.
Other Comedy Bands people might like to see at an Al convention(Based of nerdiness, parody or Dr. Demento fame):
AlpologetiX
Bob Rivers'
Worm Quartet
Jonathan Coulton
Lemon Demon
(Maybe even Dr. Demento)
for activities:
*UHF showing, some sort of associated game? Like reciting lines on cue?
*Talent Show (prizes?)
*Auction of Al stuff for the Star fund, (Fan donated? hand-made stuff)
*Booths of Al stuff to trade
*Maybe a showing of The Compleat Al on laserdisc, or something fans might not get to see on a normal basis
*Al Look Alike contest
These are just ideas. come on guys, think of more to add!
