Look, these are tough times for California. They have to get their income from somewhere. Maybe the Weird Al fans' money will finally deliver what it takes to fix this economic situation.

Skevich, you can go to the star fund's website to donate, or if you want something for your money (the fund will get less money) you can click the link from the fund's website and go to the store. http://www.weirdalstar.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
I swear, it's a conspiracy to keep Al from getting a star. As soon we we're within spitting distance of our goal, they raise the price. Again. Those
jerks.

SON OF A... *mumble mumble grumble*CatraDhtem wrote:I hate to be a wet blanket about all this, but I think they just raised the fee again, this time to $30,000.

The last time they raised the price was in February 2007, from $15,000 to $25,000. It's been a few years since I visited the Walk Of Fame, but when I did, some of the stars were in really bad shape, so I hope they use the extra money to repair or restore the stars that are damaged.
And now would be a good time to plug the Weird Al Star website for all your Christmas

Also, check our Merchandise website powered by CafePress. A portion of your order goes to the Weird Al Star Fund, so that's a nice option for those Al fans on your list who like to have a physical gift to unwrap. Calendars and t-shirts are popular gifts. We've also got Christmas specific merchandise. I just put up my Christmas tree last weekend and it's got a few cool Weird Al Star Fund ornaments on it. New merchandise was just added recently too.

Posting this in both threads, so those interested in each topic will see it.
I have an idea to do a Rock Hall and Star Fund promo. One of the current trending hashtags on twitter right now is #youmakeme. Why not use it in relation to Al? We could get a lot of new peoples attention for free.
Let me just say that again: FREE!

That's a great idea, Autumn!
It is a real shame that the price went up again. I may have to get over to the site and buy something soon. I was just perusing through the photo gallery. I am proud to say my Derek is featured on page 4, modelling the Harvey tee. I think he was the only special needs person in there. He looked very handsome. Oh, and Marshall is on page 7, drinking from the Al's Star mug. I love that pic! *Yeah, I'm in there, too, but I'm most proud of my boys for being in there.*
Also, may I request that the Yankovic mug *with the Coca-Cola style lettering* be brought back? Mine is all messed up. I'd like a replacement. Thanks!

4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:
"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11
So awesome!

Well, we finally moved into the 21st century and got ourselves one of those fancy new Facebook pages.
http://www.facebook.com/weirdalstar" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It's kind of bare bones right now, and I'm sure I'll be hitting you guys up for some tips how to spruce things up over the next few days, but for right now you can add us as a friend, or send us FarmVille requests, or whatever it is you crazy kids do on Facebook these days.

Cool, Dave, but I think you'd be better suited making a fan page rather than a person page.
