That could very well be, but then I guess one would wonder why they simply didn't offer the extra booklets to CPFOA to sell or something.

The Amazon description of the book My Dad and Me describes Al as a "pop culture oddity."
I always thought that Al was the one describing the oddities of pop culture.

That was offered at one point, wasn't it? ...the option to buy the PR booklet through CPFOA so fans who already had all the music didn't have to buy the cds or cassettes just to get the booklet?

Uh, takes one to know one? But Al's not a pop culture oddity, he's a pop culture singularity!

Somebody edited an entry I made on Wikipedia for Steve Jay, where I had used first names and nicknames instead of last names, and then left the following comment:

last names: these guys aren't your buddies

And I'm thinking, "Well, actually... "

BTW, I'm not questioning the corrections, they were needed and appreciated. The articles on the band members were some of the first ones I wrote, and I didn't know better. I knew I had to go back and change them, and it's been on my list of wiki-projects to do, just haven't gotten to it yet.

OK, I've been out of the loop for a long, long, long.......long time. What's the Weird Al Benefit on April 11th?

Will there be free food? :9~

Inquiring minds.....

Read all about it right here.

I wish I could go. It sounds like a lot of fun.

You haven't been out of the loop that long. :) Joe Lavelle is putting on a benefit show for Weird Al Star Fund on April 11 at the Mint in L.A. Throwing Toasters will also be performing and Joe's in the process of getting a couple more performers lined up as well. So you'll get a evening of great comedy music and help out the cause. All proceeds from the door will benefit Weird Al Star Fund.

There's more info in the Al star topic or on www.weirdalstar.com :)

Dave

P.S. I'll be there too, if that's incentive for anyone to show up. :P
