Last night I was talking to another Boy Scout mom and she said she went to Cal Poly SLO. So I asked her what years and she told me. A few of the years over-lapped with the years Al was there so of course I asked the obvious questions....

"Al who?" :o

Can you believe it? She actually went to that school and studied all her weekends and came out with a B average. No wonder she had NEVER heard of Weird Al! Some people! What do they think college is for anyway?

What really blows me away is she has NEVER heard of Weird Al. Come to think of it her son hadn't heard of him either.

I think an indoctrination is in order at the next camp-out. hmmmawaaaahahaha!

Hmm...that is strange that she's never heard of Al. You would think that she would of heard his name mentioned at some point. You will definitely have to do some introducing.

Yeah, I can see not being familliar with his stuff, but what sort of rock must someone live under to never even have HEARD of him, especially if they went to the same school!

On iTunes.com's Billion Song Countdown banner ad, they have tons and tons of album covers floating by and, just as I was about to click a link, along came Bad Hair Day ^_^

Today I saw a license plate that said (heart)ALYCON. I immediately thought of AlCon, or Al Yankovic Con.

Now, I've heard a lot of crazy stuff about Al in the past, but does anyone know how this one got started???

I've heard people say numerous times (and someone else said this to me today, which is why I'm saying this) that Weird Al is actually not real and that his songs are sung by a variety of different people and that over the past 20 years he's been around, different people have "played him." In short, they're saying that Al is a fictional artist and different people have been "playing him."

...Now, since I have heard this from a lot of people, I'm just wondering if anyone else has had people say this to them? Seriously, who made up this one, and why?

I mean, it's one thing when people say stuff like assuming he only does parodies (which most people think), but... wow.

I used to hear baloney rumors that Al was actually an albino and he wore a wig, fake mustache, and contacts to change the colors of his eyes.

I've also heard nonsense that he just uses pre-recorded instrumental tracks of the originals and just sings over them.

But I never heard that one, Jace.

Haha.

I've heard the one about using pre-recorded instrumental tracks too. And that albino one is hilarious.
