Ambra, thanks for the compliment on my kiss. I'm impatiently waiting for pics and a report from Meli, but I completely understand why she hasn't posted yet. I enjoyed your contribution to the "What I Like Best About Al" page, btw. Very nicely put.

Okay, I just posted my review in the concert section and the last part includes what happened with the gifts:
"So, I got closer to Al and I was thinking of what to say. What questions to ask for people and comments, and before I knew it, Al faced me and said, "Hi." I smiled and introduced myself saying my name and that I was Mary O'Connor's (My aunt that got me the passes who knows Al, but I'll get into that with my Myspace review) niece and Al said, "Oh yeah, right." I told him happy birthday in three days and he thanked me.
I then told him, that the members of the Weird Al forum got him gifts. He said, "Oh, wow, thank you!" He then, because it was so crowded and there was not enough time to open them or anything, told me to place it off in the corner by the security guard who said she would watch them. I then went back to Al, asked him to sign one of my Yankobucks and something else which I can't say without ruining a surprise for someone. I then got a picture with and and I had my arm kind of around him and I felt his curls, which are oh-so soft and our heads were touching. Then I said, "Thanks Al!" and I put out my arms and we hugged! I couldn't bring myself to ask for a hug so I had to just do it. He gave me a nice, big Yankohug and he then said, "Bye" and I waved to him as my dad and I made my way out.

I would like to apologize, and I'll put this in the gift thread too, for not expecting that Al couldn't open your gifts or anything. I couldn't even ask questions or say anything for anyone, it was so crowded and unorganized. I'm seeing my aunt today, so maybe I can ask to pass a message along to him thanking him for all he does and that we hope he enjoys the birthday gifts. But, again, I'm sorry. I'm just glad that I was able to get them to him and that I finally met my idol. It was an absolute honor, and blast!"

Like I said in the concert thread, I'm just happy you were able to give him our gifts. It sounds like he was surprised.

Thanks for understanding Patti. I truly am sorry that I didn't get to be there when he opened them or to say anything, but when I saw that many people, I wondered how much time he would take. I'll talk to my aunt to day and mention this and she if maybe she could send a letter to him or talk to him or something.

Don't worry about not getting any pics of Al with the gifts, Meli. I'm just glad they got to him, thanks to you and your dad and your aunt who got you those passes. Thanks again for doing that!

That'd be cool, Meli. Even if she can't get a message to him, or hear back or anything, I'm sure Al knows how much we appreciate what he does. I'll just keep that "Oh, wow, thank you!" alive in my memory as a thank you from him to all of us. What a sweetie!

Yeah, he was so surprised, and I think I was the only one who delivered gifts to him. Even though they were yours and I just made a card with a birthday poem, it still meant a lot to him.
My poem:
Happy Birthday Al
Happy birthday to the greatest guy on Earth,
Who hardly knows how much to fans he's worth.
He makes everyone feel great when they listen to him,
Heck, with that smile, he could get away with sin.
His songs are like magic with their humor and beat,
They talk about everything from TV to what you should eat.
His videos are always the best,
He dances and sings without much rest.
He's white and nerdy without even trying,
He helps everyone when they're down and when they're crying.
He makes everyone who loves him his special pal,
Can't you see? I'm talking about Al!
