My story...

There was about two weeks left of school, and we all had to write a story and make a book of it. My friend Zach put in a biography of Al in the back of his, and showed it to me. I asked, "Who is this?" He said, "Weird Al Yankovic". (He actually said his name right). Then he showed me the lyrics to White and Nerdy, I'll Sue Ya, and Lasagna. I really liked them, so I searched it on Youtube and saw those videos, and Amish Paradise. I looked at my library's CD's, and they had GH 1 and 2. I listened to those repeatedly. Then, I got Bad Hair Day for getting all A's on my last report card. Then, I got SOL, OTDE, UHF (album and movie), Alapalooza, and TWAS DVD. Now, I'm going to his concert in Indianapolis! Only 25 more days!

When I was about 8 or so I remember my older sister singing along to Another One Rides The Bus, on the radio. She purchased the album soon after and I remember wanting to listen to it over and over again. I thought that Mr. Frump and the Iron Lung was hysterical.
Over the years, I'd hear his songs and laugh. I loved Eat It and Fat when they came out. I used to walk around saying, "Yo Ding Dong Man, Ding Dong, Ding Dong Yo!"
Although, I've always been very impressed by his genius, I didn't really purchase any of his cd's until recently. :S (I was really into the hair bands, and didn't really stray too far from that genre)
Last year, my kids found Yoda and The Saga Begins on youtube. I was like, "Yay!" a musician that I don't have to worry about." I wanted to take them to a concert, but at the time couldn't afford it. (bummer)
I've started purchasing the cd's and dvd's though. Now, we're pretty much hooked.

When I was a wee little lad, my older brother got the Pokemon 2000 CD and of course, Al had a song on it, Polkamon. I always cracked up when it said "Try not to step on little Pikachu" Then about 5 years ago, my cousin had the CD with "Fat" on it, I listened to it, loved it, this is the only time that I'm EVER going to thank Pokemon for something. Thank you, Pokemon (and my cousin) for helping me discover that "Weird Al" is awesome! :great:

in 2005 some guy brought "The Very Best Of Dr. Demento" on the bus and asked the bus driver to play it, and yoda was track 2, then I went home and bought that CD, and I only listened to yoda, then i went to Wal-Mart and bought Poodle Hat, in 2005 around where I live, we couldn't find NOTHING but Poodle Hat, for like 3 months of going to Wal-Mart every other week all they had was Poodle Hat, then we went on a trip to Green Bay and we found Running With Scissors, my dad found an Even Worse cassette at Goodwill, we went to a Sam Goodie store (that closed all there U.S. stores now) and got Greatest Hits Volume 2. we went to a used CD/DVD store and got Bad Hair Day and Off the Deep end, I got Greatest Hits #1 at Wal-Mart, I got SOL the day it came out, we went back to the used CD/DVD store and they had every other CD I didn't have, and we got Polka Party at Barnes & Noble.

She's on the forum, no?

My stepdad burned me an "Al Cd" but the only AL songs where Amish Paradise Yoda TSB and TNSWC, all the rest were that Yonkavickacheizzy guy... TSB was my favorite, but I wasn't really a hardcore fan yet.

Then my friend showed me the white and nerdy video, I was a HUGE X-men fan, and fell in love with the guy for mentioning them...

I was a little Die hard-er now, I knew some of his music videos by heart (Youtube was my only source of music) then I saw that Ebay live, and that was when I realized how insanely good looking he was... I had never had a crush on anybody before... and you know how teenage girls get... before too long I had every Al CD ever made... and um... joined this forum :P
Oh snap!

I saw AL-TV 2006 the night it premiere and loved it and the songs played. I got SOL, and then the rest. Then I got all of the DVDs. Then I started getting some VHS. Over time it became an obsession.

Way back in 1996, my friend bought BHD and we listened to it in health class. I thought it was funny, and asked for the album for my birthday. I don't listen to BHD now, but it was the album that made me a fan. Alternative Polka was great, especially because I knew most of the songs.

I thought i posted here already... Whatever.

I remember I played this online game, and in this one part, the same people would hang out, and soon enough I became friends with them. So one day they started asking me to watch a youtube video, but i didn't want to, so for a while I'd just say no. Soon though, I decided to ask what it was. They said "Virus Alert!" And, being as paranoid as I was, refused to click the link they provided, fearing my computer would be infected with a virus. ><; So after a few more times, and I'm sure a week or two, I decided to look up 'Virus Alert' and I loved it. I then searched his name and got Eat It, Fat, eBay, and some of his videos. Of course, my mom caught site of this, and suprised me with Straight Outta Lynwood, my first Al CD. Of course, now she had to buy me ALL of his CDs... I think she regrets buying me SOL back in the summer of 2007!
they/he pronouns please !! (previously: CrazyWeirdAlLady)
