Jon, I think he picked you to take the picture because of a combination of things (yes, I like making things complicated).
1. He "knows" you, and trusts you won't dash off with it.
2. You have an iPhone, and therefore know what to do
3. Location, location, location

Makes perfect sense to me, Kristine. Always good when you're in the right place at the right time. So incredibly awesome!

How many seats in the theater would you guess?
The permanent pavilion is supposed to seat 500--I'm not sure if that tent structure had that much room--it felt smaller to me. Also, Tina was told that last night there were 1,200 people in attendance, not 500 as we thought earlier in the evening.
Does it look as though the ride is there to stay until next summer or no?
The OC Fair employee who was working with me said Al's Brain will be at the OC Fair next year as well. But not planned for longer than that.

Yep, Patti, your picture gives a good idea of what it was like. And keep in mind the sun is up in that photo so it was BEFORE Al's Brain played. The crowd after the premiere was way bigger.
And Kristine, I agree with your three reasons as well.

So yes, I have used "Weird Al" Yankovic's personal cellular iPhone everyone. Be jealous.
Jon, that should totally be your new sigline.

Hi Everyone,
I haven't posted here in...years?? I'm still alive and kicking, just really, really busy.
I just got back from seeing Al's Brain. I won't post any spoilers, but I will say that I really enjoyed it. I ran into Tony Goldmark at the fair and hung out with him for awhile. Seth Green was there too, I said "Hi Seth - you don't know me" and he laughed. He seems like a really nice guy. Al was there today too. though I did not see him in the movie.
There was a case of mistaken identity between Al and Kevin...but it's not what you think. Someone actually mistook Al for Kevin. I know - right - hard to believe! A lady from kevin's karaoke show went up to Al and asked him how Kermit the Frog was doing (for those of you who don't know. Kevin is a pretty good puppeteer and does an awsome Kermit the Frog). Apparently Al just looked and the lady and said he wasn't kermit, and that's when she realized she was talking to Al and not Kevin. I never thought this could happend. I wish I could have seen it first hand. I'm sure Al doesn't realize what that lady meant. too funny.
Any way. I'm headed back to the fair to see Al's brain a time or two more. You know, Al is helping me through college. I want to be a Doctor of Physical Therapy, and thanks to Al I know all I need to about hernia's, the Pancreas, and now the brain! See everyone at Al Fest!

LOL Cid, he helped me through massage school, too. My anatomy teacher actually played "Pancreas" during class when we were all arguing over the pronunciation of duodenum.

"YOU'RE not Barney!"

That is just hilarious. Kevin will have to bring Kermit along the next time he has a chance to see Al, just for explanatory purposes.
