QUOTE I only knew the really big hits that Al parodied, so I didn't even realize that some of the parodies were parodies of other songs. I just thought they were funny.

Yeah, me too. Until a couple of months ago. I started researching the originals with a little (ok, a LOT) help from my friends.

QUOTE

I can't decide if I like an AL parody better if I hate the original song or better if I like the original.

For me, the ideal parody target would be one that had a tune I liked and lyrics I didn't. If Al did a song I really hated, I might get a kick out of hearing it skewered once or twice.... but listen to it repeatedly over the course of months or years? Naw.

I don't know how I'd react either if he parodied a song I really, really loved. However, he never has.

I've loved the topic of many of his parodies, like "Yoda" and TSB, as I'm a huge Star Wars fan, but he's never parodied a song that I really loved, either.

The closest he came on Poodle Hat was "A Complicated Song" as I liked the original, or the "Bawitdaba" part of AWBP, as I love almost all of that CD from Kid Rock.

Hi I'm the new guy. I've been a weird al fan for a few months now. First song I heard was Christmas at Ground Zero and The Night Santa Went Crazy. But I digress, here are my reveiws.

1. As it's been said before, Weird Al adapts well to rap, spitting out insults just as fast as Em. BTW, this was one of the songs I heard before I got the album since sometimes I get annoyed by Em'.

2. This was great. The ironic thing is, after I got the album, me and my dad went to Staples and OfficeMax, which are sort of Hardware stores. I can just imagine Al in a hardware store writing down all the products so he can do that one long verse.

3. Well I could've used this song last summer, everyone was listening to Hot in Here constantly. Would've been a good relief to pump this as loud as possible. Oh, but the Echh Ew bit, I was listening to it on my bike, and I started singing along, that's a real head turner. Also, I think those grunts must be Snake from the Simpsons, can anybody confirm this?

4.This is good, not very fast paced, but that's the problem with Al's songs, their so varied. The puns are great, of course.

5. B-E-A-utiful. I never thought anything like this would ever happen. I mean, polka System of a Down. This was a favorite among all my freinds.

6. I pretty much decided to avoid this song, but when I did listen to it, it was funny the way Weird Al talks about beuty, "real symetrical", "smell like fritos". Very Chef (South Park) styled.

7. This was the 3rd of the 3 songs I heard early. I read the lyrics on the net, and I loved it instantly. Again it would've been a funnier plug a year ago when this song was more popular.

8. Muhuhahahaha. I hate it when those stupid earthquake victems but in on the Simpsons. Reminds me of November of 2001...

9.Well I'm a spider-fan so of course this is good. In the spirit of Saga. When I first heard it me and my dad were in the middle of a conversation, but he jumped when he heard the lines like, "hair was on fire" and "scarier without it on", and of course, "she prefers guys", I had no idea that Al would go on beyond that, it was pretty funny.

10. Well the palendromes are great, but this I also avoided when I heard Al in that freaky voice, I thought I wouldn't understand it.

11. This is the best thing since Which Backstreet Boy is Gay (which turns out isn't even Al. Which makes sense, because Al never makes fun of the artist that recorded the song). Being an eBay user (by that I mean my dad lets me use his sn to sell my old stuff) I'm used to seeing people who steal the bid with like 2 miniutes left in the auction and people selling crap for millions of dollars (once I saw someone try to sell some homemade watch he said was from the making of Back to the Future for a million dolars.

12. This was the first song I heard before buying the album. Since I make so many jokes about French people, blonde people, and myself, this song was perfect (minus the blonde part).

Bonus Features: Well the home movie started out great, and remained that way. I'm a Kazza user, so I had to laugh at Al's joke about downloading music. I have no idea why I would want the non lyric music of a song. And it makes less sense to want the non music version. I was hoping there would be music videos on the advanceCD, but if there are any I'll download them like somekind of hooligan. I also have no idea what the photo album is for, but hey, the lyrics were good, don't have to go all the way to lyricscafe to get the song lyrics.

In conclusion: If you bought it, go listen to it, if you didn't, BUY IT, NOW. Really why are you still reading. Go buy this album NOW!

"This Song Is Just (Six Words Long)" jangles a few too, and, for that matter, so does "Living With A Hernia."

I know my parents are thankful for Achy Breaky Song though. They love the little bit at Yoko Ono a lot. It's one of their fav Al songs.
