I have thought the same thing about CIA but i figure they are just trying to be like CIA agents and they are not very lively people

EXACTLY! It's just what they were aiming for.

I simply don't dig Al's performance on CIA. Marching in place? Al is best when animate. He could have been mimicking Miley's hip shaking, or running around miming cool secret agent stuff. But no. he marches in place. again and again and again. Every. single. verse.

The performance of "CIA" reminds me a bit of "Dog Eat Dog".

Yeah, same march. Personally, I LOVE the performance of CIA. Definitely one of my favorite Al performances ever. The black suits. The mannerisms from not just Al, but the band, as well. Perfect.

Definitely man! Why does he need to be running around? There's only so far you can go on the stage so I dont see why anyone would complain about that.

The program info on Dish changed a bit:
"Weird Al" birings new beats with an old twist as he takes aim at pop culture"....

I love Al staying put for things like YDLMA or at the end of TSB or YP. His subtle expressions and stillness make those songs hilarious.

But, the size of the stage isn't limiting what Al does during CIA. He runs around perfectly fine for Canadian Idiot or Albuquerque or Fat and even gets off the stage for WBUL. I'm not saying he should be as high energy as in those performances, but I would have liked him either been moving around the stage a little more or actually just anything but marching. Marching is for parades, and armies, and high school bands. When was the last time you saw a CIA agents marching? In pop culture? In real life? ever? It just doesn't fit. In fact I think I would have preferred Al standing perfectly still over marching. And Miley Cyrus doesn't march anywhere in the original song, so I'm not sure what Al was going for. Him doing sassy hipshakes (like Miley does in the original video) instead of marching would have been hilarious.

Usually Al's a person with high attention to detail, and until someone points out what marching has to do with this song, I reserve the right to not like it.

Ooh, I'd be all for sassy hipshakes.

The marching doesn't do it for me. The tempo of the song seems slower than the studio version.

I think if he stood still with some hand movements during the first part and then move the dance he does in the beginning to the chorus it would work a little better.
