Yay! We loved the Al Fest DVD! We spent the afternoon watching it and reliving the event together.
Thanks for doing such a great job!

Apparently Albuquerque is first on the list to receive all things Al!
The DVD looks so professional - great job on the packaging and design! We actually watched DVD 2 first because it has the Talent Show on it (Alicia appears twice and me once and yes she loved that she got top billing in our act). Kevin Cable and Kermit were great and it was fun to see ourselves and our friends take over the stage and put on a great show.
Dr. Demento's and Bermuda's talks were nice to hear again and the comedy musicians' songs were great to hear because Alicia and I were busy handing out cookies in the back of the room during Tony Goldmark, Devo Spice and Raymond and Scum. We enjoyed seeing Joe Lavelle and Grant Baciocco again (we love Grant!) The Trivia contest was highlights, but edited together quite well to represent the entire game. It was well done and included all the original video that Al did for the game show - very cool. The UHF shadowcast was nicely done considering that was the type of event that it's more fun to be present at than to just watch and the room was rather dark, but it brought back a lot of fun memories and shows just how great everybody did with no real rehearsal. Tony Goldmark was an excellent RJ Fletcher and Kristine Slipson was a beautiful Pamela Finkelstein and Stephen Staver was a well-loved Stanley Spadowski, while Fred and her seemingly endless supply of Al costumes was absolutely amazing. Amerah's AAA Channel video was a wonderful summary of the event and included some of the off-stage goings on that we also loved to see.
On Disk 1 we first watched Ruben Valtierra's Latin Orchestra - he is wonderful and so happy to get to share his own music. Many of us got to sit with Ruben in the hotel lobby afterwards and chat with him. He is so much fun to hang out with. Then we watched Jim West's set - which was fabulous because I was standing in line for autographs and so I didn't have a great view of him, but with the closeups on the DVD, it totally made up for that. I actually saved the UHF panel for last because I didn't expect much, but it was so much like saving the best for last! While sitting in the audience, we sometimes didn't hear everything or didn't catch everything and our view wasn't always that great. But with the closeups and the professional equipment used, we could see and hear everything so well, it was like a whole new event. We laughed and enjoyed the UHF panel so much more because we could see and hear everybody so well. Jay Levy looks rather red in the panel, but he looked very red on stage in person as well - I think it was just the lighting.
Anyway, in summary, this Al Fest DVD is totally worth the cost and the wait! If you have been hesitating to buy this DVD, don't wait any longer! Disk 1 alone is worth it and Disk 2 is great for seeing friends and stuff we would have otherwise missed out on. Thanks, Jon, Bill, Kristine and everybody else who put this DVD together and Thank you Vikki for all the work putting Al Fest together for us to enjoy.

I've noticed that a lot of disc-sets have big errors in the first pressing. Al's CD-set had the wrong "My Bologna", the 2002 BTTF set had bad framing on 2 & 3, and the 14-disc Superman set didn't have the original sound on 1 and had the original, barebones disc for 3 instead of the 'deluxe edition'. Can things ever be done right the first time around?TMBJon @ October 24, 2009 12:58 am wrote: Second. Pressing.![]()
