That rhino part of the ride has always got a laugh out of me.

Thank you, Steve, for completing those sentences! I was wondering what was so funny about Bengal tigers jumping 20 feet. Now I get it! Also the African bull elephant one. Still like Jesamy's Jungle Ride quotes in her message on Al's myspace:

"What kind of snake is that? Starts with a P. Python? No, it's plastic!"

"You think that's water coming out of that elephant's trunk? It snot!"

I'm not 100% sure how often they get updated, but according to the iTunes charts, "Skipper Dan" is currently the second most downloaded comedy song in both the United States and Canada.

As I said, I don't know how often the charts change, but they seem to be updated on a daily basis, which means SD's current rank reflects how well it did yesterday on its release day...so, not a bad debut!

Not bad at all. Let's hope it just does better and better as the week goes on.

I love the song cause it's funny and catchy. That's life! That's what I love about his songs.

I like the video too. It is probably just me, but I swear one of the elephants on the tour looks a lot like Ganesh giving the finger to the poor skipper haha.

Image

I looked back and froze it. It isn't, but is sure looks like it to me hahahahaha I mean no offense to anyone by that; I hope none is taken.

I think this is in cartoon format for an artistic reason. It's like his world is a cartoon begging him to laugh at the obstacle life has thrown him so he can move on. It inspires and comforts me just like any other Weird Al song. or

Ganesh is just giving the man the finger and IT'S NOT ME! lol

i was glad that he didn't have any 'weird' and 'creepy' lyrics like "Why Does This Always Happen to Me?" its nice to have a fun catchy song with 'tame' lyrics haha.

This song was definitely refreshing after coming back from my two-day college orientation...It's definitely my personal summer jam...It's not at all as horribly depressing as some made it out to be, it's far too catchy to be depressing, IMO...The thing I liked best about it is how the whole song basically came out of left field after all the speculation in the spoiler zone...Once again, Al manages to go above and beyond my personal expectations with a new single (kinda like WYL to a much lesser extent) Even though everybody says "you'd have to go on the Jungle Cruise at DisneyLand or be a member of their organization to REALLy get the jokes, it's not really that much of an inside joke,to me, it's more a song about teh human condition than anything else...I definitely chuckled at everything after "look at those hippos wiggling their ears"...I can definitely hear FOW and Weezer, but I hope Al intended for this to be a TRUE original and not a specific style parody (the likes of which we haven't seen since "Hardware Store") because I think we all wanted to see more of those...come to think of it, that must be why we haven't seen as much pre-release hype and promotion as "Craigslist"...SD wasn't as lyrically substantial enough to warrant all of that...still, after hearing the song, that definitely made it more fun for me since I REALLY didn't know what to expect...anyway, I wouldn't say it's my favorite Internet Leak or that it's better than Craigslist yet (well, it's not, but its' certainly catchier...) but as far as the whole "lets' hope its more like Craigslist than WYL" thing, I think SD has found the middle ground between the two...I hope Al puts out more songs like this with more subtle humor and really good composition...
