Yay! Al had the #1 video on the final countdown show for 2006!

Nice plug for AL-TV, and also, Aamer said he met Al at the Big in '06 awards, and that he was "a very, very nice guy". We already knew that, but it's nice to hear.

Yeah, it was great for Al to have the last #1 video on the countdown for the year. I was so happy we could keep him at #1 this week. Nickelback did have a great run with a great video, though, and it might be a little easier for these last 9 weeks, beginning next year, with them gone.

The plug for Al-TV was good to see, since one of VH1's flagship shows seems to be getting behind the promotion. Also, nice to hear about Aamer meeting Al, and getting to know how nice of a guy he is. Another great segment this week.

Al's Countdown Position Chart:
Week 1 --#5
Week 2 --#2
Week 3 --#1
Week 4 --#3
Week 5 --#2
Week 6 --#1
Week 7 --#1
Week 8 --#3
Week 9 --#7
Week 10--#1
Week 11--#1

Don't know if anyone caught the Top 40 Videos of 2006. I wasn't able to see it yet, however, I looked on VH1's website and White & Nerdy was #21 of 2006. That pretty good considering the late start that the video got. I'll be sure to watch it later, and see what the VH1 commentators commentated about it. I saw the comments for the top 3 videos.

Al's Countdown Position Chart:
Week 1 --#5 Top 40 Videos of 2006 -- #20
Week 2 --#2
Week 3 --#1
Week 4 --#3
Week 5 --#2
Week 6 --#1
Week 7 --#1
Week 8 --#3
Week 9 --#7
Week 10--#1
Week 11--#1

That plus it wasn't a V Spot countdown. They were going more off the status of it being a #9 single than a #1 video. 21's actually better than I thought.

I'm surprised it's not higher considering that for 9 of the 11 weeks, it's been in the top 3. The week it was #7 was a fluke that should be all but discounted since it was #3 the week before and #1 the week after.

Were there really 20 other videos that had a more impressive run than W&N has had so far?

I have no idea really. The only one I glimpsed at because I had turned off a tape of mine was Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie" video was #2. I'm pretty sure that had a successful run, but I never paid attention to the V-Spot thing until W&N.

Well like I said, this wasn't a V Spot countdown. It wasn't just going by request. If this was a V Spot countdown, W&N would be #2 behind the Dixie Chicks or maybe #3 behind Nickelback (Yeah, I do pay attention to it)

Requests don't have much power on this one. For a #9 single, #21 is actually really good.

Sorry, spacedingo. I read the previous post where you said that, but it just didn't stick into my head for some reason. Ah well. Time to go back to bed. Sleepy.

I watched the Top 40 of 2006 this morning. Al was #20 not #21.

Really? I was just basing my post off of how VH1.com had the standings posted. Maybe it changed after they posted it or something. Still haven't been able to catch the show yet.
