Although Weird Al Yankovic commented on the numerous companies he had to thank during his acceptance speech for his win for comedy album for "Poodle Hat," he didn't have much of an opinion on recent media mergers: "I just assume (the work) is going to be handled by someone who knows what they're doing." As for a topic closer to his heart, when asked if music is too risque, Yankovic commented, "It's exactly raunchy enough."
He did that instead of making a speech obviouslyspacedingo @ Feb 9 2004, 07:16 AM wrote: Geez....how many wacky Grammy poses can that guy come up with???
And here's my wild-guess answers.Bruce the Duck wrote: Okay, here's the big questions I have for everyone:
Probably just a little bit. The bit on E will probably help most.1) How much will this win affect the lagging sales of Poodle Hat? Will it go Gold? Platinum? Myr?
I don't think winning a Grammy could possibly slow down Al's creative process. He said last year that he planned to start writing in January, so it's probably not going to be another nearly-four-year wait.2) Many of us have assumed that the Eminem fiasco and lack of Poodle Hat sales would result in a speedier release of his next album. How will the Grammy win affect that? Will the next album come out sooner or later?
Yes, probably.3) Is it too late for Al to do a second video for Poodle Hat? I mean, he has plenty of reason to promote it again. The spring tour, the Grammy win, possible re-airing of ALTV.
In view of all the "probablys" in my answer, I'd have to say, "Fudge."4) What's for lunch?
Considering who else won Grammys last night, you know what the best thing about this win is?
It wasn't posthumous.
