World of Weird Al Yankovic

I thought this was a great song from the first time I heard it. I like it when Al does something a bit different and as far as the sexual content, there are more overt references on a lot of tv shows during the so-called "family time." Also, Al takes on different personas for many of his songs; for this one, he's the sleazy guy who thinks he's all that as he's hitting on every lady around him, not realizing all the ladies think he's a loser. Al's concert performance of the song emphasizes that and the sexual aspects of the song are so OTT there's no way they can be taken seriously. This definitely one of my favorites as far as his original songs go.

I guess I should stop telling girls they have Yugoslavian hands...

'Zactly. Al's character is struttin' around in his new Hot! Stuff! red suit, but the basic immaturity and shallowness keep seeping out around the edges. It's just hilarious.

I was also pretty amused by an overheard conversation in the ladies' room at the Ram's Head (wonder why I seemed to hear so much interesting stuff there?) between a mother and daughter (about 11 or so) who apparently got to be up near the front. Daughter was wishing that Al had sung to her, and Mother was trying to explain why that would Not Have Been Appropriate. I didn't envy Mom the job of trying to explain, or elude explaining, the Subtle Innuendos.

In that case Al needs to have a new concert recorded for television and/ or DVD.

Has anybody here ever gotten a girlfriend by using any of the lines in this song?

I think another reason for the switch in suit colors is the white one was probably a real pain to keep clean. The red one can probably go for 2 or 3 performances before it needs to be washed while the white one most likely had to be washed after every performance, especially if he was doing the "falling to his knees and crawling to the edge of the stage" bit.

I think a black suit would have been better than a red suit cause you can barely see any stains on black clothing unless you look for them

Black would be too tame; WBUL needs a flashy costume and if you can't go with disco leisure suit white, red is definitely the next best thing!

Indeed. Red is very flashy and noticeable from far away. I think also, if you're in the back, its easier to notice that white or red suit so you can see what's happening when he's not on stage.

Indeed so. (Not that I had any problem seeing him when he came down from the stage... *still wonders whether Al spotted her light-stick when he walked past*)

I like the red suit. It's bold and extreme, which is, of course, perfect for the character he portrays in the song IMHO.
