In the first half of the ride, you see a pretty waterfall off to the side. In the second half, you're behind slash under it, so the skipper says you're looking at the back side of water.

Here's a bunch of animation fans who mostly like Skipper Dan a lot.

Can anyone tell what's being sung in in the background in the beginning of the first verse? It sounds like, "crap, crap."

"Hep, hep"

It's a backup vocals syllable. Commonly used in a cappella, these syllables are non-words that just convey a style or emotion. Think of it as vocal instrumentation, or using the voice as an instrument.

Other examples: doo, wap, ooh, doh, la

lol! I thought it was "pep, pep", whch is a little better. I just found it humorous that you heard that, Joe.

"Hep, hep" makes more sense. Thanks, Kristine.

Well, there is the Craigslist video. Yeah, it was low-budget, but it's live action.

I dunno, I like the animation for Skipper Dan. I think it has a certain charm.

And yes, those are actually some of the stuff the tour guide says on the ride.
Well, three out of four of them. :)

"Bengal Tigers can jump over 20 feet, and we must be at least, well... 19 feet away! Don't worry, he'll jump right over us."

"Do you know how you can tell that that's an African elephant? It's because we're in Africa"

and the scene with the rhino trapping the guys climbing the pole is another classic part of the ride.
