I think even the version that is on record has spoken word. At least, according to this it does.

I've heard segments of the song, but I don't recall ever listening to 12 minutes worth.

Well I had what surely must be the whole Doors catalogue ( a frankly terrifying 807 tracks and versions of tracks and live stuff etc) playing through on Spotify the other day and I recall quite a number of songs especially live versions with spoken passages OTHER than The End..

I think its fair to say it was a typical Morrison-ism to burble random stuff halfway through

Yeah, like I said, The End was the only one I knew of. I knew someone with far more Doors knowledge than I would add their 27 cents. Thanks, Louise!

Of course The End is the one where he ummm makes a rather sinister implication when he uses the word "Mother"

Edit: I just found a version of The End that clocks in at 17:47 LOL listening now.. Theres a 20 minute Light My Fire as well

Yeah, I did link to a wiki about The End upthread, which mentions that line, and what Morrison said about it.

Al is so brilliant. He just turned that around and poked fun at it. I do love that part of Al's song.

Bad news: It doesn't look like "Craigslist" is going to hit the "Billboard" charts this upcoming week.

I don't want to say 100% for sure, as final numbers aren't in for the digital charts or the "Pop 100," but it seems pretty definite that the song is not going to be on either the "Hot 100" or even the "Bubbling Under" chart.

Rats.

Ah man! I was really hoping this would chart.

It certainly doesn't seem like it was a lack of promotion, what with Al hitting the radio circuit pretty hard. How disappointing.
