LAst night i decided to read through all of the ask als that were ever posted. I've done this before but i didnt remeber anything. I always thought that al maybe had a thing for victoria jasckson. thay seemed just a little too close to just be friends and i was a little excited when i read that they breifly dated. from the pics of them on the uhf dvd i thought that they would be a really good playfun couple. this may sound stupid but i think i relearned everything i forgotten about al. I was even suprised and very much joyed by some of the answers from him. I thought about asking him a few things like what they are always doing on their laptops and how long he and vicky dated but i decided not to cuz i used to always send questions but he never answered so i stopped. What to u think?...

Yeah, it was pretty obvious that they dated. I've sent in plenty of questions, I remember the first one I asked years ago was something like, "In My Bologna, why didn't you play the long solo towards the end of My Sherona?" or something like that.

I think he would rather answer questions about his career, because you know how like to keep his private life...private.

I bet he gets thousands of questions every month, and he has to pick through all the obvious and already answered questions. So nice of him to answer the annoying ones like "Do you ever write originals" and similar questions.

yeah it is great of him to go through all of that but that could also be the reason he soesnt do it very often. But most artist's would never do anything like this in a million years, but thats why Al is the best

Isnt there two questions in there about Victoria Jackson? I believe he answered one saying that every time he ran into her she was married to someone else. I only remember that because I read them all a few years ago, and I asked Bermuda about it. I don't remember what Bermuda said, but I know that it didnt answer my question.

I asked: did you perform in any musicals or plays when you were growing up?

My friend and I are both big Billy Joel fans, and we saw him in concert with Elton John back in 1994. When we went to the Bad Hair tour, my friend wore the T-shirt he got that has Billy and Elton on it.

During Al's concert, he did his "interview" with Billy.

So when we met him after the show and he saw the Billy shirt, we demanded that he "TAKE OUT OUR TRASH!!!"

...Were you able to phrase that in the form of a question?

The question I asked actually got posted years ago.

Tuck Davion of San Diego, CA asks: Hi Al! I just wanted to know, what is the difference between the Capitol Records version of "My Bologna" and the album release version?

The Capitol Records version is the original bathroom recording - the ONLY instrument is the accordion. The album release version was done in the studio and features the whole band. On the “Permanent Record” box set, the initial pressing went out with the incorrect version of “My Bologna,” which caused a great disturbance in the Force.

February, 2000.

At the time I asked the question, I had never heard the Capitol Records recording of "My Bologna". The actual record itself always seemed to be out of my price range on ebay (which changed years later), and I didn't pick up Al in the Box until 2003 or so.
