This song is pretty good. It reminds me a lot of Melanie, lyrically, at least. I call it the Brian Peppers Song.
Cane and Rinse: weekly thoughtful video game discussion. Give it a listen, won't you?

Although I love Taylor Hicks and I think he's the best AI winner they've had yet (of course time will tell if he continues to compete with Kelly), I also think it would have helped the song if it were actually about Taylor Hicks or Simon Cowell or about American Idol contestants in general.
I'm still trying to figure out why Al cut the song up so much. Does anyone remember the original American Idol performance of this song? I'm thinking maybe that only had one verse in it and that's why Al cut the second verse and added the applause at the end.

That could be. I'm pretty sure the AI peformance did have only one verse. It also could have been that he just couldn't think of enough material for the second verse.Bruce the Duck @ Sep 30 2006, 08:08 PM wrote:

See, that's what bugs me about this song. Most of the time, when Al can't think of enough material for a full song, he abandons the idea or uses it for a concert-only special. But here, if that's the case, he went ahead and did it anyway.Kevbo1987 @ Sep 30 2006, 10:32 PM wrote: That could be. I'm pretty sure the AI peformance did have only one verse. Oh well, maybe with the short length of the song, and the success of the album, "American Idol" will invite him to perform at next year's finale!
