I finally got to see the episode yesterday. I didn't think it was that bad, but I do agree that Al and the band were the best things on the show! Loved the credits, too!

Well we weren't the only ones watching that night!!
For the week -- from Calendarlive:
QUOTE Here are the rankings for national prime-time network television last week (April 7-13) as compiled by Nielsen Media Research. They are based on the average number of people who watched a program from start to finish. Nielsen estimates there are 272.04 million potential viewers in the U.S. age 2 and older. Viewership is listed in millions.
Program Network Viewers
19 The Simpsons FOX 12.02
For the day and time (Sunday, 8:00 PM) -- from Zap 2 it:
QUOTE FOX was second with a new episode of \"The Simpsons\" (6.1/10) and a new \"Oliver Beene\" (5.0/8 ).
The
6.1 is a
rating, which is the percentage of households in the world that have television that are watching the show. So that basically means that of every house that has a tv set, whether it was on or off that night, 6.1% of them were watching Al.
The
10 is a
share, which is the percentage of households watching that show. So that basically means that of every house that has a tv set that was on that night, 10% of them were watching Al.

QUOTE
Now the big question is, any chance the song will turn up on any kind of silvery five-inch electronic plate?
Well, it is about time for another Simpsons soundtrack a la "Songs in the Key of Springfield" or "Go Simpsonic", so maybe....

He looked like a cross between Al, Kenny G and Howard stern (in a hawaiian shirt of course) kinda like a generic "new al" as opposed to the old al image with the glasses and puffy hair.
did i help?

Al's "Simpsons" episode gets an Emmy nomination!

I just thought I would pass along the news that the "Simpsons" episode that Al and the band guest-starred on, "Three Gays of the Condo," has been nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program (For Programming Less Than One Hour).
Unfortunately, "The Ballad of Homer and Marge" (either version) was not nominated for Outstanding Music And Lyrics, but at least now the guys can say that they have appeared on an Emmy-nominated program (this would be the first, yes?).
