Well, you were informed wrong. Nothing wrong with using backing vocals/instruments. All artists do it! Also, there is no part in Word Crimes that he doesn't sing. Let me try and do a full run down of everything pre-recorded in the current set.
Tacky (Backing Vocals in Chorus, Falsetto parts in the Chorus)
Lame Claim to Fame (None)
Now That's What I Call Polka (Brass Instruments/Whistles, Some vocals during the end of Get Lucky)
Perform This Way (A lot of instrumental, and the backing vocals during all choruses)
Dare To Be Stupid (Possibly some keyboard playing, a couple sound effects not controlled by Bermuda)
Fat (All snare hits, the "cha" that always play, sound effects)
First World Problems (Amanda Palmers vocals, "Amazon", and the breathing at the end)
Foil (Backing vocals during chorus)
Smells Like Nirvana (Gargling, animal noises, tuba)
Medley:
Party in the CIA (Very light backing vocals)
Pentiums (Woman saying "It's All About The Pentiums, Baby")
Handy (Chorus)
Bedrock Anthem (None)
Another One Rides the Bus (None)
Ode to a Superhero (None)
Gump (None)
Inactive (Some drum sounds, chorus backing vocals)
eBay (None)
Canadian Idiot (None)
Wanna B Ur Lovr (Backing Vocals)
Acoustic Medley (None)
White and Nerdy (Instrumental aside from Rubens piano parts, and Jon's drum parts)
Word Crimes (Drum Programming, Backing Vocals)
Amish Paradise (Choir during Chorus)
Cell Phones (None)
The Saga Begins (None)
Yoda (None)
Someone correct me if I missed anything or got anything wrong...preferably Bermuda

Kidding, kidding....
