Never been to a taping before. Besides the dress code (got that figured out) what should I know about time to arrive and so forth?

Did you sign up already? Usually they'll tell you a time.

Yep, got the tickets. Time is 2:45pm, general admission. I suppose we'll just park over at the Farmers Market/Grove since Steve and I like to look around and we're familiar with that little bit of the area. We're making a day of it. Afraid if we wait for the free parking at CBS to open up we'll end up still parking at the market and walking back.

I recommend parking at the CBS lot if you can. First of all, it's free. Second of all, you can park there as long as you want. When they let you into the building, the first office on the right is where I used to work for a few months at CBS's interactive/viral department. I remember I used to see the Ferguson audiences walk in every afternoon and they would stare at us like we were animals in a zoo.

Regarding waiting for the CBS lot to open up, you can probably get in there an hour or so before the required 2:45 time. Maybe even earlier than that. And if you want to walk around the area but CBS security won't let you onto the lot yet, you can park in the Farmer's Market lot (not the Grove) for free for two hours with validation. If you want to call CBS Studios in advance to ask them how early you'd be allowed onto the lot to park, the number is (323) 575-2345.

CBS just put out a press release regarding Al's appearance. Apparently, Al will also be sitting down for an interview, and as for the song being performed...

I like their description of Al as "musician and parodist."
