They are making sure you're actually an AmEx cardholder... hence the whole point of the presale.

Has anyone gotten tickets to this yet? I am standing by to get tickets in 15 minutes and I swear if it already sold out to those American Express jerks I am going to be rather upset...

After a few minutes of frustration with the Ticketmaster website, I called up the Grammy Museum itself. I gave them my credit card info and they said they are now reserving me a ticket. They said I'll only hear from them if the transaction does NOT go through, so hopefully I don't hear a word until Monday night. Wooo!!!!
Anyone else having trouble getting tickets, I recommend calling the museum directly. The number is 213.765.6800 and the guy who answered at that number was able to take my credit info and reserve the ticket.

I did the same just now, and the guy said I was second in line. Jon, you must be first!

HA- Thanks, Jon--I'm third in line! So frustrating dealing with Ticketmaster! :annoyed:

It did sound to me like this is not a done deal. The guy said he had a couple other lists to go through first, so we may not all get in. I don't think it's a very big theatre.

I thought that was too good to be true... they called back.
All the tickets have been sold out for weeks. The best I can do is show up at 7:30 and maybe there will be some no-shows. Sucks!!! I guess I'll be there though. Worst case, those of us who don't get in can go get a drink somewhere.

And all because none of us felt like applying for a card that load you up with massive debt even if you don't use it.

Anyone got an extra ticket?
