No offense to Usher, but I really wouldn't put "Raymond v. Raymond" in the same "event" league as the "Bad" album to warrant Al returning to the well again, especially just an album later. Also, IIRC, Usher doesn't actually sing "O-M-G" in the song, instead using the phrase "oh my gosh" as the hook. But in all fairness, "OMG" was one of my first kneejerk thoughts as to a parody candidate as well based on title alone; I just don't think it's very likely at all.
But so far some good possibilities have popped up in this thread (actually, my first thought was also "Paparazzi," even though it would be a slightly awkward fit). Using "TNT" would be quite inspired and it would also shake up Al's formula as to when he utilizes a "classic" rock song.
But, and I admit I have this group on the brain regardless, I want to say that if--IF--this "TMZ" song is in fact a parody, it sounds like it could be of "Misery" by Maroon 5.
(Thanks, that one article, you now have a fan base microspeculating on three syllables.)

Re: Plympton collabo
I really hope it isn't "OMG" since we got an Usher parody on the last album. But it's possible. "Teenage Dream" by Katy Perry is also a good theory. Dunno about "Paparazzi"-- I'd think if Al were to go for a Gaga parody he'd hit one of the bigger ones like "Poker Face" or "Bad Romance."
I highly doubt it's "TNT" by AC/DC. Highly...
edit: or it might not even be a parody...

Paparazzi's one of my favorite Lady Gaga songs. I just don't think it's as likely of a parody target as, say, Bad Romance.

All I know is this: If Al sings the letters "TMZ" where "Paparazzi" is sung in the original, it would be among his worst ever parodies.

Well, obviously it's not going to be Paparazzi. (Since when are we ever correct with our wild speculation?)
Anything Al does is going to be unexpected and will surprise us. Preferably for the better.

Re: Plympton collabo
Just to clarify, when I said "Paparazzi" I meant the term (in relation to the subject of "TMZ"), not the Lady Gaga song. I have my doubts about this particular song being a Lady Gaga parody.
If this isn't a parody, it's one of the two unreleased originals. One of the originals is supposed to be the closer on the album, and I'm guessing that this song wouldn't be it. I'm not sure whether this song is parody or not, but I'm hoping this is parody, because I'd like the unreleased originals to have a much different subject or concept.

Re: Plympton collabo
From the sound of it, the album closure is gonna be another "epic" song, so this probably wouldn't be it. Could be the other unreleased original.
But one reason I want to say it's a parody is because it just now got announced by both Al and Bill. Which leads me to believe it's a song Al recently wrote and commissioned Bill to do. And all of the originals have been recorded for quite some time now.

Re: Plympton collabo
That's an excellent point. Considering last year Al commissioned the animators for the last four released originals before he even finished writing them, this is most likely one of the three last parodies Al needs to do before he puts out the album.

Me, when I said that there should be a Queen style parody on the new album. No, I'm not ever going to get over it.The Doctor wrote:(Since when are we ever correct with our wild speculation?)
