It was an outstanding concert and really great to see Al in the UK - I hope he makes it a regular thing for his tours

I couldn't believe it when he came down into the crowd. (yayness)
I was gutted to have got there too late to use our VIP passes though, especially when they told me there had been a meet and greet, and then I got hassled by a security guard at the end so no hanging around for the second meet. Not sure I'd go to this venue again, and it's left me wishing I'd stuck to going to London instead (the ticket company lost our tickets originally, hence rebooking the VIP thing). Couple that with a guy trying to hit on me in the crowd during the last songs and it seems like it was one of those things where *everything* that could go wrong for us did, but all in all it was still a really good night.
There was one song that absolutely rocked and I hadnt heard before, but I'll hang on to ask about that so I dont spoil it for the other concert goes next week. I loved the singalong at the end, and the Uncle Fester moment
Plus I found this forum while searching for photos, so hello

Hi! Glad you enjoyed it too, but sorry you had hassle with the VIP passes etc! did they get you backstage access etc?? i heard they just got you 15 mins earlier entry and trading cards!
I LOVED the fact he came into the crowd - Al singing to me has to be one of the best moments of my life so far haha!! How sad am i!
That's funny you say you wish you didn't choose Birmingham venue - I went to the London show yesterday (because i am sad) and i MUCH preferred Birmingham. Fair enough, i'm 'slightly' biased because i got to meet Al and have a photo and i was at the front etc (:D). But i found the Birmingham concert a much more intimate affair - the crowd were awesome!! whereas the people near me at the London show were very irritating...perhaps not on purpose, but a guy had his camera in front of my face the entire time, and the people near us just seemed generally less enthusiastic to be there! maybe it's just me, but in London, me and my sister were sooo excited, and the people around us just didn't seem too bothered! Plus more people means less chance of Al singing to you during WBUL and thats a definite downside

haha!

The VIP tickets got you a little pack (cards, a signed photo, and some magnets) and early access to the event (if you got there in time

) but I dont think they were worth the pennies overall. I think my experience of the tickets put me off which may be unfair - it was a really cool gig and we had a great time which is the main thing. Next time I think I'll stick to normal tickets and hanging around just in case
I was really surprised the gig had a very close feel to it which was really cool. It was great that we were all so close and that he came down into the crowd, which was definitely a wow moment

It's definitely on my top gigs list because a) the gig itslef was cool once were in there, and b) it was Al and I've been a fan for yonks. It's a real shame if the london gig didnt capture the same spirit, but I'm kind of glad that Al's first gig in the UK was a bit more up close and personal. I really really hope he comes again

Well, London sold out. Which has to improve Al's chances of going back to the UK. Preferably in warmer weather and in better health.

Thank you, UK! That was insanely fun. Let's not wait another 30 years to do it again!
