by Well, Well, Well
i generally hate the constant itunes updates so i am probably still running itunes 9.0.7.33.5. as far as the logo, i do not like the new one as much as the old one, but honestly it looks about the same just glancing at it. other than that i have no opinion of or interest in what al is doing on itunes and will move on to more important things.

I got it enabled on my iPod and as Al said on his twitter.... Very underwhelming. But maybe people who are into the social networking stuff will enjoy it but I think its quite dumb.

It's very dumb for a whole host of reasons. Chief among them is that the service doesn't do anything. Just shows you what other people bought on iTunes.

Does it allow for gifting? I haven't spent much time looking at it.

The only thing that's remotely interesting about Ping is that Al can broadcast to his fans which albums he "likes." Perhaps the dumbest thing about Ping is that you can't easily find your friends and connect with them. You should be able to search email contacts, Facebook friends, etc to find connections. For example, Amerah is on there listed as "Someone Ames" instead of her actual name, and I was unable to friend her until I knew that fact.
