I do hope that "Untitled Weird Al Yankovic Project" is the actual title.

Yes, congrats MT! That's really cool. I also feel privileged and vindicated as an avid contributor to the database as I was the one that submitted the title to IMDB.

Well, according to Al in his interview on Comedy Death Ray Radio this week, the deal with Cartoon Network to do this movie fell through..

He will be shopping this project around. He still has some sort of deal with CN though I think..
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Sigh...
Yeah, Al just announced on CDR Radio that this project is, at the very least, postponed. Apparently Cartoon Network had a whole string of made-for-TV movies they wanted to make, and then very suddenly, just weeks ago, they decided they didn't want to make movies anymore. Al had just finished the fourth draft, everyone at the network loved it, and the movie was ready to be OFFICIALLY greenlit, but a change in corporate policy stood in the way.
So the project is in turnaround, meaning Al is free to pitch it to other networks, studios and entities, but Cartoon Network will not be making it. And to be perfectly blunt, this does decrease the likelihood that it will get made. It sounds harsh, I know, but this kind of thing literally happens ALL THE TIME in Hollywood.
If there's a bright side to this, it's that since Al will definitely NOT be directing a movie this fall, that should hopefully give him plenty of time to finish writing, recording and releasing album #13 by Christmas.
I'm gonna go see "Furry Vengeance" and throw things at the screen now...

I'm pretty sure Al is still signed on to do projects with Cartoon Network, so don't count out any other possibilities... just this live-action project.
And of course, it is slightly possible for someone to "house" Al's work on the movie, but like Fred said, it isn't very likely at all. I was hoping this might mean an extended tour, but probably not... plus, he's one of the busiest touring acts to begin with.
I'll be looking forward to any other projects he may begin work on, though!
