I do hope there is a new album, though. There will be 5 new songs so it would not be bad, but a tour plugging a new album would be great. It will all be new to me, though as I have never seen Al live before.

I hope Nirvana stays as a whole song so we can have cheerleaders again. I've always wanted to be one of the cheerleaders at least once.

If SLN ever disappeared, he had better find something else to have cheerleaders for! I will be one unhappy camper!

I cant wait for the new tour, new album or not. Wasnt that said for the last album as well?

I don't think so.

I'm pretty sure Al and the band were planning on touring sometime in 2006 before the James Blunt parody fell through. Now, I'm not sure why Al and the band are skeptical about the release of the album this time, but I still pretty strongly believe it's because Al is waiting for some good parody targets.

Yup, that's it. He needs to wait for a sufficiently Big Thing to come down the pipeline to serve as source material for a lead parody.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

If Al released an album based on parodies of songs that were popular right now, it would be a very weak set of parodies. There is nothing out right now that could stand up to the test of time, IMO.

I definitely plan on seeing at least one of his shows here in the Colorado area...I think he usually just comes to Denver, Pueblo and the Springs and does a Fair and a full concert or two...also, as far as the setlist goes, I'm guessing the medley and everything before it would be different from the SOL set-list, but maybe not the big section of show-stopping parodies at the very end (unless he adds another new parody that he thinks is earth-shatteringly brilliant ro something like that...) and while I seriously doubt he'll open with "Polkarama!" again, maybe there's a better chance that he'll release the new polka medley intended for album 13 as another "Leak" type digital single (just so he'll have something new to open with) along with maybe a new parody...just because WYL (which is most likely going to wnd up in the medley, IMO) wasn't so well recieved and knowing Al he might wanna take another whack at releasing another parody of something at thte top of the charts...but, since the albums' practically halfway done to begin with and he's got at least 8 months before hitting the road again, I'd say there's already a better of the album being released prior to the tour...

It seems likely to me that he'll release the album just in time for this tour to happen, and therefore all of this speculation will be a non-issue.

I'm betting "Craigslist" and "CNR" will be in the concert, but I doubt "Skipper Dan" will be. It would be rather plain as a performance, I think. And of course, "Whatever You Like" should be in the medley - definitely not as a full performance - we don't need any more rap performances.

I'm a bit saddened that they are doubting whether the album will be out by next summer. I guess Al doesn't want to just do parodies of any songs. He's waiting for big hit and GOOD songs to come around. Unfortunately, he may have to wait a while, as the charts are filled primarily with garbage at the moment. :(

I think Skipper Dan is very likely to make its way into the setlist. I imagine it being one of the first five or six songs in the set, when Al is still wearing a Hawaiian shirt or plain attire, before he starts getting into the costume changes. I think this is the perfect song to play in that section of the show.
