As long as there are no new songs included, it can go here.
I'm ranking every Beatles song on my new pop culture blog. Check it out!

Such a format implies its very much a record company thing. I dont think they'll be wanting anything unusual, just the standard fodder and lets face it, most of the people on WoWAY already have a pretty comprehensive collection. I don't expect there to be many (or any) tracks on there that I'll be looking for.Marko_The_Odd @ July 21, 2009 01:43 am wrote: Wow. It's like Al is reading my mind. I was actually thinking about this exact idea yesterday!
For those who don't know, this is most likely talking about Sony's "Essential" series of album compilations that are often quite but usually have lots of material in them.

A similar series of albums is the Gold series done by Universal music. I was thinking about if Al had a new Greatest Hits Compilation come out, it would most likely be one of these as opposed to "Greatest Hits Vol 3". And because is on Volcano which in the long run is owned by Sony, The Essential series made the most sense.
And these things are often quite packed with music. If they are going the 2 Disc route, which I'm most certain they will, it'll probably have anywhere between 27-40 songs.
Mainly I would want the Yoda Chant and re-recording and/or re-masterings of early stuff, and tbh I don't think that will happen

If I was asked to make a 40-track collection which contained 1) his greatest hits, and 2) fan favorites, here's what my collection would look like:
In the interest of making it easier, I'm just going to put them in chronological order which is basically how The Essential does it. I will also avoid concert-only songs, unreleased songs, etc.
1. My Bologna
2. Another One Rides The Bus
3. Ricky
4. I Love Rocky Road
5. Eat It
6. Buy Me A Condo
7. Polkas On 45
8. I Lost On Jeopardy
9. Like A Surgeon
10. Dare To Be Stupid
11. One More Minute
12. Yoda
13. Living With A Hernia
14. Dog Eat Dog
15. Christmas At Ground Zero
16. UHF
17. Money For Nothing/Beverly Hillbillies
18. The Biggest Ball of Twine In Minnesota
19. Fat
20. Melanie
21. Smells Like Nirvana
22. You Don't Love Me Anymore
23. Jurassic Park
24. Bedrock Anthem
25. Frank's 2000" TV
26. Amish Paradise
27. Gump
28. The Night Santa Went Crazy
29. The Saga Begins
30. Pretty Fly For A Rabbi
31. It's All About The Pentiums
32. Couch Potato
33. Hardware Store
34. Wanna B Ur Lovr
35. Bob
36. eBay
37. White And Nerdy
38. Polkarama!
39. I'll Sue Ya
40. Trapped In The Drive Thru
That being said, I think this tracklist I just devised sounds like a horrible compilation and I would definitely not buy it.
