It's less the nature of Al's voice and more the concept of Weird Al as a pop culture punchline that is preventing him from appearing him on this show.

Yeah, that's a good point! At the VERY least Al could appear in a digital short or something...

Maybe Andy's SO in awe of Al that he's afraid he wouldn't be able to give him direction or something.

The Lonely Island (Andy Samberg's comedy group, with Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer) are having a CD released soon, named "Incredibad". I'm suprised Al wasn't asked to perform on it...but maybe on a sequel alblum?

As much as it would be fun to watch the contestants sing Al songs, it will never happen. Al's best role on the show would be to provide next day water cooler analysis. Basically, exactly what he did a couple of years ago for USA Today.

Yeah, Elvis, I agree.

Or maybe Al could direct one of those Ford music videos featuring the contestants. That may be too "commercial" for him, but some of them have been kind of off-the-wall. I don't know who usually creates those, though. Just a thought...

They're doing a cd? I gotta look for it.

I myself was wondering why Al hasn't done anything for SNL (That I know of, at least.)

Ford would be lucky to get him. And there's good money in commercials, so if it was a product Al didn't have qualms about*, like the beer commercial he turned down years ago, I don't see why he wouldn't do it.

*I don't think he'd be doing one of these for example.

The point I was trying to make is that Al is a better singer now than when he began. Noticing improvement is not a diss. :)

Agreed.
