This concert was amazing. probably better than the last one I went to to see him. Strom troopers were hilarious. Albuquerque was really funny with the extra donuts. Wanna Be Ur Lovr was awesome. Oh I talked to the one of the guys that were filming the concert for everyone to see on the monitors and the camera guy said that meadow brook hires him to film concerts and it might be for sale. If that's the case then I'm a bit surprised considering Bermuda has told me lot's of times that filming videos of his concerts and selling them is illegal. The Camera guy also said that sometimes artists don't' know there are videos being sold.
I don't leave home without my pancreas.

Thanks for the reviews, guys. Glad you enjoyed the show. Did either of you take any pictures? I would like to see the sandtrooper. It's cool that different characters are joining the stormtroopers onstage at some of the shows.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:
"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11
So awesome!

My good friend Jim arrived at the house and we went on our way from Cranston, RI to the venue.
Entertained ourselves with dvd's of Robot Chicken, Andy Milonakis, and the Weird Al Show (admittingly, for reasons beyond Al's creative control...that show is just not the right way to hype up a concert).
Grabbed a bite to eat at Burger King.
Arrived at the venue a tad bit early, asked for directions on how to leave the venue at nighttime (due to no visible landmarks at night), then took a photo of an electronic image of Al and the words "weird al yankovic TONIGHT". the image was his "blue hawaiian shirt" photo from Poodle Hat.
Travelled to a local Gamestop store, passed time playing the new Aerosmith Guitar Hero (without a guitar strap), and Super Smash Bros Brawl while briefly mingling with workers about this week's major E3 expo.
Back to more Al related matters.
Arrived at the venue again to park in the lawn lot. Approached the gates, had witnessed a friendly yet awkward gentleman telling some fans that "his baby just pooped in the toilet" (so he is told on his Fat-ringtone playing cell)...which two fans instinctively sang along to spontaniously.
We recognized R2-D2 noises yet my friend passed it off as wacky "security devices" sounds (magic wands and metal detectors)....pleasantly surprised to see R2-D2 in person...with TSB,Yoda, and the Star Wars theme playing on its speakers.
105.5 radio was there to hype the festivities with a weird al radio shtick. Spin a wheel and you might be able to request an Al song from their iPod (or dance the YMCA, chicken dance, electric slide, etc). Great opportunity for myself and my buddy to sing along before the show.
Bought a Pimp-Al tour shirt, and my friend got the Wonder Bread W&N shirt.
Chowed down on a scrumptious doughboy while listening to Jim Tyrell's 2nd Stage performance before opting to enjoy the weird al radio atmosphere.
Gates opened and got nice aisle seats. asked a security guard about where the bus is and the possibility of meet-and-greets. The anonymous guard first told me of the VIP passes and I responded with "Al commonly does free meet-and-greets with the hardcore fans after he finishes with VIP" and the anonymous guard told me where to find the bus. To make that long story short- the bus was blocked by a gate and the only way was VIP through a guarded area.
one bit of pre-show entertainment was a "text trivia" game. question 1 is who is Dr. Demento (not a therapist...and not a tv show personality)...
and what was Al's earliest recorded parody "my bologna"...
I couldn't figure out the text method for the life of me...kept getting error messages from the trivia people.
The radio DJ personality took the stage to hype up the show and he's clearly a fan.
"You're gonna Dare to be Stupid, get Fat, and Eat it!" and other cheap tie-ins...
"don't know if he'll play those songs but YEAH!" and got us all to yell "we love weird al".
Bob was performed. I love the very new harmonica solos in comparison to the CD version. Is that Al just having fun with the harmonica or is he doing some sort of Dylan homage to a different song than usual?
no [edit: NEW] shirts in your pitiful
hooded windbreaker- gold shirt- ribcage shirt-accordion shirt- spongebob
Wanna B Ur Lovr- Al had done a fastpaced butt-gyration to the row behind us.
OtaS- Al's stagehand looked bored and constantly tappign the harmonica on his wrist waiting to leave. lol
trapped in the drive-thru "he WENT to pittsburg last summer". haha
the new troopers on Saga Begins seems to be a form of Clone Troopers...and R2D2
Smells Like Nirvana's cheerleader's routine was well choreographed imo.
only major handwaving during Amish Paradise's 2nd verse but plenty at the end of Saga Begins thanks to the Troopers
Fat hoe had no shame in wearing his costume.
nothing much different in the show...I could have sworn their were other tiny details but nothing that hasn't been pointed out before or at other venues.
or maybe I'm finally having my first case of Al Induced Haze.
...
show ended. attempted to find bus and then left. talked about how phenomenal a showman Al can be.
drive home was weird. roadways with "roadwork" of sorts...plenty of awkwardly placed traffic cones made it hard to drive down a long stretch of empty Twilight Zone-ish road.
I coulda sworn I had more to sya....maybe not.
This is my only show this year's leg. Wish my girlfriend could see it but maybe in a few years.
See all of you there next time.

Hi folks,
That was a good review of the Meadowbrook show. We went to both, last years show and last night. We were sitting 10th row center on the right aisle as you look at the stage. I was lucky enough to be one of the women that Al stopped to sing to during Wanna be ur lover. He took my right hand and sang the part of the song about "Yugoslavian hand" his face was about 2 feet from mine. It was fabulous.
The guys sounded like they may have had a few problems with equipment in the first half hour or so of the show. It was very hard to hear anyone but Al singing, not that I'm complaining mind you. It just seemed to me that usually you can hear Jim and the rest of the guys better. It did improve.
We were not able to snag any of the Al 100 dollar bills but after the show we stayed in front of the stage for a bit and one of the gentlemen with security reached up over the edge of the stage and layed his hands on three of the bills and gave them to us. That stage is about 6 ft high. How did this man know we had not gotten any. Extremely kind of him.
We did not have a sticker pass to get in to see Al. Other than buying the 150.00 tickets I don't know how people get them. I would have loved to see him after the show just to let him know how much Wanna be ur lover meant to me but what can you do. So I messaged him after we got home around 2:00 to tell him as much. God bless him, but I don't know when the poor guy sleeps I think he was still on line at 3:00.
Now I have to deal with after Al let down. I find myself saying yesterday at this time I was doing such and such, relating to the show. It will be 4 months from now and I will be still saying it until I find out when the next concert is.
I hate to hear that Meadowbrook my be put on the market. I know that the owner, Mr Harding, passed 7/8/08. That likely has something to do with it.
What is so special about these concerts. It is funny, endearing and such a joy to be with other Al fans who know all the words and are willing to sing them at the top of their lungs, just like my family.
