Hi Florian,
I called a little while ago and we can bring cameras but just can't use flash and it sounds like we will be sitting at the same table. I'm at table 5 seats 9-12 maybe we will get to say hi.
Well, I've just gotten back to our hotel for a little bit before the concert.
Really nice place over at Turning Stone, and looks like a nice, intimate, place tonight as people have described.
As soon as I walked into Turning Stone, I ran into Jim. He looked to be doing great today...spent a while talking to him, and then went on to find the showroom. It was around where I met him, and I hung out around there. Watched them test out all the video clips and lights, and then once they were finished, I met Hammer(Stage Manager)..he complimented me on my Cubs shirt, and said it was nice to see me again, as well. I was getting ready to leave and saw Steve...he quickly passed by, though...but, said he was glad to see me back.
This has already been a great day, as I have gone to nearby Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. That was pretty nice, and a good town. Was surprised how much influence polka music had in early baseball...kind of interesting with that, as well...
Going over to the concert, in a little bit. Doubt there will be an after-show, but I do know where the busses are. At least, I've already seen Jim, Steve, and Hammer. I'll probably be back later tonight, with a review...
Sounds like you're having fun, Jeremy. Cool that you've run into Jim, Steve and Hammer. Looking forward to your review after the show, and to meeting you again in just 4 days!
Just came back from the concert. Someone - I think Alnite27 - wrote that Atlantic City was one of the best Weird Al concerts he has seen so far... Though I usually love that standing in front of the stage-atmosphere, the venue is really nice and the concert was perfect. The sound was much better than in the House of Blues (which is especially nice to me as I am no native English speaker) some days ago, I would definitely love to stay at the tour for some more dates... but have to head back to Germany unfortunately...
Have taken some pics from the concert, but unfortunately with my small pocket digital camera. I did not know that they also allow SLR cameras with simple lenses in there - otherwise I would have brought parts of my equipment with me (I am driving a sports picture website in Germany)... Bad luck. Will have a proper look at them tomorrow and post them then
My ticket was right up at the stage, so I had a perfect view all night of the concert. Steve & I really interacted with each other again, and the band did little subtle things toward me. Al chose the table I was sitting at to dance on during Wanna B Ur Luvr. Steve was playing to me all night long. Al would come down to my side of the stage and sing right in my face a lot, since the stage was right there. Also, in Yoda, they did the Yoda Chant in kinda slower motion than usual..and Steve pointed at me, and mouthed that was for you. So, nice show...with lots of attention.
Show went pretty normal. He performed Why?. In the Saga Begins, there were two different kinds of characters that I haven't seen before: one looked like the regular stormtroopers, but it's costume seemed to be more cloth based or something...and the other was dressed fully in red and carried what looked to be a lead rod or pipe; it was interesting to see new members. In Albuquerque, he started over twice. Some guy was on his cell phone in the front row, and Al said they would have to start over due to that...and then, when he forgot where he was, they started over and went through the beginning...
After the show, I was waiting for Al out by where the backstage pass people were coming out. Someone came out to talk to the people who had the VIP Package. Also, I got to see and talk to Jim and Ruben...Jim a little longer than Ruben. Ruben had a funny moment, when someone asked him to take a picture and he said alright...and grabbed the camera, and took their picture for them, lol...I love when he does that...it's not very often you get to see Ruben really...so, I enjoyed getting to see him tonight...
Really fun day...Cooperstown, long conversations with Jim w/ good aftershow, lots of attention during the show, nice casino...everything was pretty nice....

Thanks for the reviews, Florian and Jeremy! Glad you enjoyed your time here in the U.S. at the concerts, Florian. Have a safe trip back to Germany. Looking forward to seeing your pics.
Jeremy, sounds like you had a good time. Always fun to get attention from Al and the guys.
!!!! I just found out that Bruce Coville was going to the concert.
Did anyone see him there? I am a major fan of his books. If I would have found out earlier, I would have begged someone to hunt him down and get an autograph.
