I got the Drew Carrey episode on tape last month from the Superstation.

Wanna trade for the episode of American Gladiator that I got when I was trying to tape the DC ep?

My fave Al TV appearance was that moment in Behind the Music where he told the story of a young kid going up to him and asking "Are you Weird Al?" When Al said yes, the kid said "You suck!" I love that. :D

Memo to Mama Bear: It certainly looks like Al's scars have healed, so IMHO that makes it okay for us to see the funny side of it too. Besides, it was 20 years ago, and the laugh's on that kid. When was the last time Missing Persons went platinum? :choon:

No, no!! Sorry, I knew that wasn't phrased right. I mean, I love that story and the expression he uses in it. Of course, I totally disagree with the kid, but I still think it's a funny story.

Missing Persons who? Did they ever go platinum, or did they just go missing?

I wonder if that kid remembers that moment? With deep, abiding, regret I hope.

<Scottidog morphs out of Mama Bear Mode.> :lookround: Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry... (Ah, childhood memories.)

Behind The Music is my favorite AL-TV appearence. The short "There's No Going Home" clip on RWS is also a favorite of mine.

Even though I never got to see the entire episode, my favorite TV appearance is..."Weird Al Video Collection." I think its called that at least. It was played before the premeire of "Driven." It was sort of like a shorter, but more modern informative "Driven." I enjoyed hearing about those videos that weren't tALked about during "Driven."

I checked. Their first album went gold, in 1982, and that was the best they ever did as far as sales. The band only lasted 6 years, so I guess the answer is, they just went missing.

That infamous concert bill should have been a better fit than it was. All the Missing Persons members were Frank Zappa alumni.

Thank you for that...I always thought I was 'missing' out on something because I'd never heard of them before Al came along.
