Ugh. I absolutely hate general admission. I guess I'm too old for it. I just think for such a visual show such as Al's, it's no fun dealing with people pushing and shoving to try to get closer to the stage and sweating buckets and being surrounded by people sweating buckets. I'm sure it's because the theater is really small and they want to sell twice as many tickets due to no seats. Another problem with this is the fact that he probably won't be able to come out into the crowd like he always has. Well regardless, I'll be there.

actually, both time I saw Al at SRO shows, he DID come into the crowd for One More Minute. Al sure had a lot of guts 11 years ago :9~

Did anyone reading this go to that 930 Club Show (DC) he did on the Poodle Tour? How did he handle OMM for that performance?

It doesn't appear that anyone here did the 9:30 club show--there is no topic for it at least.

I saw him at a fair show that was GA in 2003 (my 27th show *sigh* :D ) It was a two show deal, so they were both shortened and OMM was dropped for both....but on WBUL he did wander out into the crowd twice. I got the "chew on your butt" line the second show.

This will be the first time i've seen Al in a GA setup, but im not too worried...i don't think the crowd will get too wild, hopefully. Standing all night kinda sucks, but oh well. It's either stand for a few hours or don't see Al....hmmmmmm.

Usually the crowd at a GA Al show behaves well...in fact, the only bit of rowdiness I ever saw at one was some playful mass moshing during SLN. One little boy got knocked off his feet when his face collided into someone's rear end.

The only STO show I have been to of Al's was House of Blues at Myrtle Beach, SC. I had a great time there. The show was pretty safe, wasn't TOO much pushing, and like CD said the only time it really felt like a pit was SLN. So, I wouldn't worry about the STO part of it. Just make sure to get there early, and to not have already worn out your legs during the day, as standing for 2-3 hours takes a lot out of you.

So how early is everybody here going? I'll be coming by myself so I can show up early to meet up with some WOWAYers.

Considering I have to make the 8-hour drive that day, I'm not sure how early I can get there. Hopefully I can get there in enough time to be able to see the show alright. I don't know, though...that's another disadvantage of the STO.

One thing I did notice on the theater website it states that the center seats will be removed and that a ticket does *not* guarantee you a seat, so it looks like there will be an open area in the center of the floor and seats to the left and right which are first come, first served, so old codgers like me can chill out and enjoy the show.

Yea I was having a hard time figuring out how the set up will work, i think you're right though about only the middle being GA, that's a nice set up if the do it, so everyone wins.
