With all the punches that the cops were throwing, definitely the Los Angeles Police.

I kid, I kid :lookaround:

He's supposed to look like Taylor Hicks. He does

Oh, OK, I've never seen American Idol before. Those eyebrows were WAY out of control, and the detail on the ears is wonderful.

See the DICYO thread for some pictures of the Animation sheets from the video.

Oh and ladies, I'm sorry to inform you, that's not Al's torso in the Bathtub scene. ;-)

The original ending I saw (on the animatic) had the Inmate at the end shove Al's fingers into his mouth but it's still a great video.

Only saw America Idol, like...twice, but I assumed that it was the person he was parodying...glad to see I was right.

Nice video, I think I will go hide to get away from the creepy staring, so I don't have nightmares.

Great video though.

Because I'm just that bored, I'm gonna write a little "review":

First off, the page it great- they really made it look American Idol-y.
Now, for the video part...
Again, the titles are AI, which is cool. I like how its Al's face with Hicks hair and typical Hicks clothing. And, of course, the obvious Starbucks reference. Gee, what other coffee shops do we know of that are all green, green, and more green?!? lol. I want to know who that woman is that "plays" Debbie. At first I thought maybe Suzanne, but no its not her. So who is it?

Anyways, the newspaper is a pretty funny "fun with the pause button" moment.
The part with Al in the freezer isle is so random, but its awesome. How he would actually fit in there is beyond me, but its still funny.
Oh, and the "and usually I stare" part is probably the creepiest thing ever... (thus the point of the video, I know). And she throws her gum in a dumpster marked "Paper Only", yet when he dives in he comes up with the cliche banana on his head. Cartoons just can't read these days... sheesh.

27!! Haha, I'm glad that JibJab is in on the joke. I, of course, noticed it right away. Yay!! But I was wrong when I was guessing that her name would be carved in the same spot as Dave's tat. I still think that that part of the song is referencing him. And why is he not wearing heart boxers?? I thought for sure they would have been, not the blue pin stripes. lol.

Hey, Al was arrested in the future! Since the original date to be released was the 17th, his placard in the police station says the 16th.... LOL. And that makes me wonder... does his number on the bottom have any significance (in full or in part)? #17825362165? Oh, and also they actually made Al's character the right height! Look at the board behind him when he gets the mug shots. Wow, I feel nerdy for noticing that. I like how it ends with him singing in the Lynwood County Correctional Facility "Talent Night".

Great job, JibJab!! Awesome video.

Pure awesomeness. Absolutely perfect. And I say that as a fan of both worlds.

That was hilarious! I loved it. Some parts were really random.

SPOILER I really liked the Al Hicks takes Debbie's fingers in his mouth and then she throws the coffee on him.

I'm a fan of JibJab's videos like this. I'm glad the video premiered earlier than expected.

With the haircut and chin, I thought I was Jay Leno at first

Haha. People get Hicks mixed up with Jay Leno a lot. Jay Leno likes to joke that Taylor Hicks is his long lost son.

Though this was Al's face with Hick's hair and clothes. It looks odd at first. I wasn't expecting that kind of combination.

I promised Anne I'd wait until I got home to watch this... but I'm glad to see the positive response so far!

Loved it. Better than any of the six original videos. The song is still my least favorite on SOL but the video was absolutely amazing and one that goes down with "Fat," "Smells Like Nirvana," and "Amish Paradise" among others where you'll never be able to listen to the song without picturing the video.

Great stuff, Jibjab and Al!
