If I remember what I read right, the encore total was about 45 minutes, but I'm not sure.

So it makes since that occasionally back then they would throw in a Sweet Home Alabama or In a gadda da vida.
Sweet Home Alabama was used for the "request" skit in the 2004 tours, I believe.

What exactly was the "request" skit? I got to go to two shows in the PH tour, but they were in the 2003 leg of it.

The request skit Grom was talking about is when Al would ask the "audience" (actually being Jim or Steve) what song they wanted to hear. At the time, you'd pretty much hear fans yelling random songs, probably Albuquerque or Hardware Store being the most requested. Anyways, Al would ask Steve or Jim what song they wanted to hear, then about half way though, Al would say something like "No, Jim, [or Steve] one of OUR songs!". Even though Al would sing the song, he'd get annoyed halfway through and then the band would start playing OOM.

I remember we had a list of the songs that Jim would request, but I can't seem to find it.

Was Black Dog one of them?

Al should polka the entire song! Couldn't you just imagine that drum solo at double speed?!

Someone did do a polka once, but it wasn't the whole song - he just compressed bits and pieces of the long version into a three minute polka.

That would be pretty hard to do, I would think.
