Well as long as judges and audience don't give an added value to recorded, it shouldn't matter.
When I hosted Survivor and tribes sent in their responses with added graphics, I told them they're free to do it, but it wouldn't count toward the results.

I'm definitely in. Sounds like a lot of fun. The only thing is I'd suggest it just be called WOWAY Idol. I think one mention of Weird Al's name in the title is enough.

How is it going to be judged? What if I would chose a not-so-popular song to parody? Are the judges required to become familiar with the song being parodied?
