I was chatting with my friend, Debby on myspace. She was listening to the Q104 interview and had to tell me this part which was really cute.
"Hey, I heard Al this morning! He was HERE, in Cleveland. Imagine my surprise. A very pleasant surprise. People are really pumped about this album and I couldn't be happier. One cute thing was a caller asked him what his kids thought of his music. Al told her he had a daughter, 3 1/2, who asks to hear 'Daddy's music
. Isn't that cute? Al also added that of course he had to compete with the 'Blue's Clues' soundtrack. He said that he tries to sing to her but she just says..'no..put in the cd'. lol cute."

Thanks for the report, Cat. I was fighting a fever all night, so I just knew I wasn't going to be able to get out of bed for the start of the show, and then just sit there waiting and waiting.
Wow, and Al was on WDOK, too?? Sheesh, I believe that now makes literally all of the Cleveland music stations I regularly listen to (and apparently he was on Magic 105.7 back on the 26th). I think all he would have to do now is show up on WCPN or 1350 AM and I'd really be freaked out.

Wow, sounds like you've really been sick lately, CD. Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for the recap, Cat. That's the second interview in a row that I missed because of my stupid alarm clock. Anyway, that's interesting that he was in pre-production for YP's video. He must have felt that his music videos were cursed or something, considering that was the second straight video that was halted during pre-production.

Glad the recap helped a bit, sorry I still don't have recording technologies (cody, trust me, there was nothing worth really hearing, other than to ask if they had "strained kiwis" when they offered him a drink..

, Al barely got to speak, )...although if anyone would like to try to advise me on something cheap through PM, I don't mind getting up at the crack of dawn to hear these interviews, and I'd be happy to record if I can...it kinda makes my day actually, and motivates me a little!
Ah! I can't believe we missed the WDOK interview, but I agree that Al has become an honorary "Clevelandian" after hitting up all of these stations...sounds like we might get another show in Cleveland (well, here's to hoping!

)

Yeah, the waiting and waiting dragged on from about 5-7 AM, and felt a lot longer than that...but I am reaallly glad I got up to hear it since so many people missed it...I hope you feel better soon Greg!

The stations' blog about the show said that Al felt like he was an "honorary Clevelander". How cool is that!!!
Do you have a link to that blog? All I could find was this one with a nice pic of Al + DJ.

Is there any reason his facial hair looks so incredibly light in that picture?...

Im sorry that I don't know how to directly link you to the blog I mentioned because I'm quite inept at computer things, but if you go to wdok.com and click on WDOK mornings at the top, then click om WDOK Morning Show Blog, you will find it. The blog is very minimal, but it still meant a lot to me!
I'm proud to be a Clevelander!!!

I was thinking of another way he could be enshrined in the city.
But anyway, Al also mentioned the planned YP video during this last DrD interview. I don't know how far along into preproduction it was (after all, it seemed the YP problem came fairly soon after it was recorded), but Al did mention getting back into shape for shots in which he would have been barechested a la James in the "You're Beautiful" video.
