Trying to find out exactly who owns the current home video rights to "The Compleat Al" has been near the top of my "to do" list of Al-related things for a while now, but unfortunately I've yet to come across a clear answer. The movie itself was copyrighted by CBS Records (which has become Sony Music) and released by CBS/Fox Home Video (which has become Fox Home Entertainment), while of course most of the Al music within is currently owned by Volcano.

Having said all that, it seems the best people to request such a release to would be Volcano themselves. Even if they can't make the decision entirely on their own to reissue it, they can at least hopefully get the ball rolling.

The following is the mailing address I've posted for the same cause over on my catch-all "Weird Al Fan Action Center" page on All Things Yankovic:

Volcano Entertainment
c/o Zomba Recording Corporation
137-139 W 25th St.
New York, NY 10001

I don't think an AL-TV dvd will ever happen although it would be kinda neat. I'm still holding out hope for the Wonder Years. Speaking of AL-TV, any word on whether he'll do a new one for SoL?
